📽 A MAN 6/10 De Kei Ishikawa Si vous vous souvenez des rares chroniques de films asiatiques que j'ai écrites, vous devez vous demander pourquoi diable je suis allé voir ça. Parce que le scénario me faisait diablement envie et parce qu'on m'avait assuré que cette fois le cinéma japonais n'aspirerait pas mon âme. C'est l'histoire d'un type qui n'était pas ce type. Ou d'un type que n'était pas ce type. Sa femme le découvre à sa mort et une enquête est lancée pour tirer cette affaire au clair. Ce genre de scénario, sur l'identité, le vol d'identité, etc. m'intéresse pas mal. J'ai mis mes principes au feu et je suis parti à la recherche de la vérité. La première demi-heure (à peu près, c'est toujours compliquer d'estimer le temps passé dans un film japonais, 10 minutes, 3 heures, 2 jours, on s'y perd) est fidèle au cinéma nippon : chiante à mourir. Enfin, il meurt (je pensais qu'il mourait dès le début, c'est la première fois que je vois une bande-annonce qui raconte le milieu du film), enfin on découvre la supercherie, enfin l'enquête est lancée, enfin le rythme s'accélère (enfin calmez-vous, ça prend quand même son temps). En tout cas le reste du film m'a plus intéressé, m'a presque happé. Et au moment où l'on découvre toute la vérité, où l'on croit qu'au bout de 5 heures et 22 minutes on va pouvoir sortir se dégourdir les jambes, NON ! On reste assis, on regarde les arbres, les fenêtres, l'avocat marcher de dos, les arbres, le fils, les bancs, l'avocat marcher à nouveau de dos, la femme regarder le ciel. Et au bout de 6 heures 41 minutes, le générique commence. Voilà, je ne peux dire que je n'ai pas aimé, ni que c'est un mauvais film. Nous étions 4 et personne n'a pas aimé. Personne n'a véritablement aimé non plus. Disons que nous étions tout en nuances, que nous avons beaucoup apprécié la dimension sociale tout en finesse et que vous ne lirez plus de critique de film japonais de sitôt ici !
A man : 2/5 Quel meilleur endroit pour commencer un film qu’une mignonne, petite papeterie ? Le film mettais beaucoup de temps à démarrer. Il était long et contemplatif. A l’image de nos personnages silencieux et observateurs. Le film était intéressant mais sont rythme était trop lent et ça n’a pas réussis à m’accrocher. Pourtant c’était un thriller. Le film avait beau se transformer en une véritable enquête sur l’identité, durant la seconde partie. J’ai réussi à m’y ennuyer et j’ai même failli m’y endormir malgré sa complexité ( mais peut être que cela était dû à une grosse journée de travail ?) Pourtant la seconde partie était vraiment prenante et nous questionnais tout en mettant en lumière notre curiosité. Mais je suis vraiment resté mitigée sur ce film car le rythme et les intrigues durant la deuxième partis était vraiment bonne. Et la tournure que prenait la fin maligne. Lumineux, et sombre à la fois et des acteurs à la performance subtile ! À recommander ! 🇬🇧🎬Et Une vie de James Hawes : tirée d’une histoire vraie. Un homme au soir de sa vie revient sur une épisode de sa vie et de celles des 669 enfants qu’il a aidés . Il ne cherche pas tant la reconnaissance de son implication mais de soulager sa peine de ne pas en avoir sauvés plus et de saluer tous ceux qui ont été impliqués comme lui au péril de leurs vies … Émouvant et un film certes porté par Anthony Hopkins, qui reste une performance chorale exceptionnelle ! A Man, de Kei Ishikawa. Un film sur ce qui trouble notre identité. D'un homme fuyant son passé en changeant d'identité, à celle d'un enfant troublé par son nom changeant sans cesse. Et celle d'un avocat dont sa chasse à l'homme le ramène à son propre trouble identitaire. Encore un film qui ne se prive pas de nous montrer la société dans toute son imperfection, et ce qu'elle provoque. Sans explicitement dénoncer, le film traite du racisme envers les immigrés Coréens, et le mal-être qu'il provoque chez les concernés. Ce qui me marque vraiment, ce sont ces quelques scènes où les personnages craquent lorsqu'ils font face à leurs divers traumatismes, conditionnés à les enterrer au plus profond d'eux-mêmes. Le ton calme du film, le silence quasi-omniprésent viennent sublimer la surcharge d'émotions provoquée par ces scènes là. #amanfilm #keiishikawa #filmstragram #sakuraando

I sampled Akashi Meïsei blended whisky, 40 abv, aged in oak barrels. The packaging and design of the bottle and the glasses (specially designed to uncover the taste of Ji-whisky, keeping the aromas inside and protecting the valuable liquid from sunlight) are exquisite!
