And also for the candlesticks of bronz from Napoleon III. The unsigned bust gives the impression of art nouveau. Meaning made somewhere between 1880-1910. This mostly by looking at how the eyes are made. But without a signature we really don’t know! What awakes my curiosity even more, is how the artist has managed to make a ceramic sculpture without a hollow inside!!! From my small experience as a hobby ceramist a long time ago with grandma, this wasn’t possible!!? For this reason I pass this question on to one of my favourite Swedish ceramists, @kroand ! As a Swedish immigrant in France, I find it hard to read the old beautiful French handwriting! The two candlesticks of bronz are only marked with what I believe could be one of the first owners name and an address? and last the French word for pair. Or is it a makers marking ? Started with the name Ramet and material bronz. And voilà!! Henri Ramet was an owner of a metal factory in nearby Toulouse during the same time!!! So more information is available!! All seasons are high season!! At least at an old trainstation in Pomas outside Carcassonne!! A still functional trainstation for passengers outside the large garden and with an Airbnb only open during the tourist season 15 of April until 31 of octobre !!! But with an ongoing renovation of the building built in 1876, a big garden that the former owner had let turn into a djungle during 22 years before the new owner got it back in shape and a brocante in the former waiting hall and in the garden, there is high season all the year around!!! The Airbnb has been the first priority and where rather quickly renovated to a very appreciated holiday stay for up to 6 persons. The private part has been partly renovated inside but the exterior remains and the rest of the interior are renovated when there is a little time left to do it. So, it will take time and that how it should be, because you have to enjoy your life and what you are doing !! Are you nuts??? I definitely am!! And so was my father, always making sure we had fresh nuts at home for Christmas in Sweden! And who could believe I one day would live in France getting fresh walnuts and hazelnuts directly from a neighbours’ garden!!! And for the walnuts, you must be nuts if not eating them!!! The oil in walnuts are, together with cold pressed linseed oil the only fat that resolves other fats in the blood vessels!!! Totally without side affects!! On the table you see 2 nutcrackers I borrowed from the next door brocante! The enamelled crocodile from the Swedish EBE- Verken AB and the antique French squirrel in cast iron.
