Baloo has had a lot of great days lately and almost all of them have been muzzled 🖤 i have a lot of thoughts on the XL bully ban in the UK and what that means for the daily lives of so many dog and owner duos. i feel deeply for the people who have had to grapple with what they expected vs. what their reality now is because i think i can speak for many already-muzzled bully owners when i say, SAME. i have personally traveled through banned-breed territory with my dog and have felt that fear first hand, especially traveling with a muzzled dog. with all that being said though, there has been a massive trend towards people demonizing the muzzle and acting like their dog now having to wear one decreases their quality of life and i want to just showcase the fact that muzzled dogs do NOT have less fun. in fact, Baloo has wayyy more adventure and excitement in his life because of his muzzle. what started as a backup plan has become a way of life for us and something i will stand on as a crucial part of our training journey, one i hold very close to my heart. i will never not muzzle train a dog again, regardless of breed, and regularly use the muzzle for that matter. i love being a part of this little club of sorts and i urge those who are now forced to do this to try to find community within their muzzle journey instead of villainizing the tool. please enjoy these pictures of many muzzled adventures in places we otherwise could never go. 🖤 #muzzlemonday #bullybreed #bannedbreed

So... I've not posted for a while, my paws have been busy navigating becoming a #BannedBreed. Today, I turned 1. #HappyBirthday to me and my siblings. However, yesterday, the vet said I was obese and I needed a diet. Rude thing to say to a lady. I know. But, this is what @rishisunakmp didn't think about when banning a race/breed of dogs. I can no longer run off a lead, I can no longer greet others without a muzzle. Others lift their arms and move away when they see me. Other humans pull their dogs away from me. My walks are unsocialised and stuck to my human's side, not being able to be free and burn off my excess energy. Then i get called fat, as i can not exercise as I wish. I go walking every day, and some humans are nice and look past my muzzle, even letting me say hello to their dogs. I luvs that me! But my walks are not what they used to be. Today, as a birthday treat. My daddy took me to @rainrescue where I was able to be free from my lead and muzzle. It was amazing. I even got my chunky butt through some #AgilityTraining. However, as great as this was. It still doesn't beat the great outdoors, as I am locked in a paddock.
