DIARIO DE VIAJE - CRETA - Chania. El viaje siguió por una isla, pero íbamos en busca de historia, a fines del invierno, así que esta vez salteamos las Cícladas para ir adonde comenzó todo: Creta. La isla de Creta es la más grande del Egeo y recorrer todos sus atractivos demandaría tranquilamente una semana. Disponíamos de 3 días solamente, así que hubo que elegir. Nuestro primer destino fue Chania, o Xania, o La Canea, la segunda ciudad cretense más importante. El atractivo principal de esta pintoresca localidad es el puerto -foto- y bahía venecianos. El puerto fue construido entre 1320 y 1356 cuando la isla estuvo bajo el control de la República de Venecia y Chania era un próspero puerto comercial. La formidable construcción proporcionaba aguas protegidas y un fondeadero seguro con espacio para 40 galeras. Hoy es un placer total caminar por las instalaciones del puerto, de piedra color manteca, el viejo arsenal, donde también se reparaban los barcos, la fortaleza, hoy museo, la mezquita de los jenízaros y la larga explanada que conduce al faro de 1570, en medio de la bahía, repleta a su vez de restaurantes, tabernas y tiendas de ouzo. El pequeño casco histórico que se extiende a partir de allí es irregular. Alterna callecitas super pintorescas con otras donde hay edificios en reconstrucción. Plazas, Iglesias y murallas aportan personalidad y encanto. Hay restos de antiguos asentamientos minoicos, hay rastros bizantinos, venecianos y turcos que conforman una identidad propia y muy particular. Creta es Creta y no se parece a nada más. Das Burgschloß Virnsberg erscheint erstmals als Reichslehen indirekt mit Ludwig und Alberich von V., als diese 1235 die Hälfte ihres Besitzes V. an die Grafen von Hohenlohe abtreten mussten. Diese verkauften sie umgehend an den Nürnberger Burggrafen Konrad II., der 1259 gemeinsam mit Konrad d. J. und dessen Sohn Friedrich auch den Rest der Burg erwarb.1294 übergab Burggraf Konrad V. Burg und Herrschaft V. dem Deutschen Orden, wodurch die Burg zur Deutschordenskommende wurde. Aus der Erbauungszeit im frühen 13. Jhdt. stammt die Ringmauer der Hauptburg mit ihren Buckelquadern, weitere Teile (Palas) sind in der späteren Randbebauung aufgegangen. Der Bergfried soll erst im 14. Jhdt. hinzugekommen sein. 1487 und 1535 erhielt die Burg sukzessive drei Zwinger samt eckigen Streichwehren und Zwischentoren (Grundriss der Hauptburg auf Bild 3). Bild 2 zeigt eine Zeichnung der Burg am Beginn des 20. Тут любитель архитектуры найдёт большое количество потрясающих склепов и памятников, любитель истории – множество известных имён, любитель тишины – покой и уединение, любитель природы – большой парк среди жилых массивов. Я люблю кладбища и некрополи, гулять там, разглядывать.
