Just over one week till my online workshop, The Artist’s Eye, starts. In this online workshop we explore detail and nuance, narrative structures, creative inspiration through many mediums, light (both natural and added) and how it shapes mood and influences color and clarity, exploration of color to deepen our artistic vision, self portraiture, composites and more! This online course is designed for artists to push themselves creatively and explore emotive portraiture with a strong narrative foundation, placing heavy emphasis on ordinary spaces and environments. There are weekly exercises, assignments with video CC (average 6-10 minute in length) and zoom chats. Full participation has sold out but study along seats are still available. To come up roses. I shared a self portrait of myself in this same spot (swipe) well over a month ago and had been meaning to share Scout’s version. I found an antique window, put chicken wire over the edges and filled with real flowers. I had to move somewhat quickly because they were real… nonetheless it still took me a few hours each time to setup (I set this up twice 🥰). I wanted to create two different moods with lighting (both have OCF) and color grading, which is something we dive deep into in my upcoming workshop, The Artist’s Eye. The course not only covers creative expression and the why behind it, but also technical aspects as well. Everything from narrative structure, detail & nuance, meaningful color palettes, mood lighting (natural and added) and more. Workshop starts May 6th and there are still study along seats available. Один из любимых снимков. Он полностью срежиссирован мной. Мне часто пишут, что у меня такие живые непостановочные фотографии, но 80% из них это постановка. Я чётко говорю, куда встать, что делать, куда смотреть, вплоть до направления взгляда; я контролирую каждый жест, показываю, какие движения нужно совершать и развиваю действие в кадре. Результат - такие снимки. Мне нравится создавать сложные эмоции у героев. Мне нравится неоднозначность происходящего. Мне нравится, когда поведение и эмоции персонажей порой уходят от общего знаменателя. Мне нравится, что за кадром нечто привлекает внимание героев, тем самым создавая интригу и вызывая вопросы у зрителя. Что-то за рамкой кадра меняет героев и отвлекает от взаимодействия друг с другом, и это нарушает первичное впечатление от ожидаемой ситуации. Мне скучно снимать в лоб, упирая зрителя в единственно возможный вариант прочтения. Мать и дочь. Некий трепетный момент между ними, но я не хочу замыкать содержание только на этом. Мне было бы интересно узнать, что вы видите здесь. Какие чувства вызывает этот снимок. Нравится ли вам эта фотография и почему.
