It was all about a vibe ✨ Without being overdramatic, a few weeks ago I rediscovered why I got into photography into the first place. I have loved my journey since switching to photography FT 5 years ago, but upon reflection my approach towards my art changed whilst I strived towards the creation of sustainable business. I’d become more logical and technical with my approach towards imagery. My top priority had evolved into meeting the dot points of the brief - everything else came second. It was during a shoot in Mt Gambier where the realisation dawned on me, I’d totally neglected the emotional aspect of imagery. I started photography because I wanted to create art that would make others feel something, that would make ME feel something - The way amazing cinematography moved me as a kid, and still does to this day. Maybe it was due to being in the middle of a beautiful forest, maybe it was because my flight was delayed for 2 hours and I had nothing to do but meditate and reflect in the airport lol. But fortunately for me, somewhere along the way in that trip I remembered my why. And it’s been bloody brilliant getting back to my core purpose. But enough of the emo stuff, here’s a sequence of shots with actor extraordinaire @niicolagrant at the end of an overcast day in the forestry region of Mt. Gambier. We were hit with amazing dusk light and HAD to made the most of the opportunity. No deep seated meaning behind these photos, we just wanted to create a vibe - a whimsical, ethereal feel to the images.
