Three days later, I am still reminiscing and thinking about the @openchampionships . One of the best and most fun experiences of my life. The sport patterns were some of the toughest to bowl on. Averaging 200 on house shots did no justice for me at Nationals. I averaged a respectable 170 throughout the week for three days which I am very proud of(considering it was my first time playing on different sport patterns). These patterns were a different type of beast that frustrated me but also made me hunger for more. I will always accept a challenge no matter the difficulty or separation in skill level. I cannot wait for next year to play again in Vegas. I’ll be more prepared. Shoutout to my team, my girl, my friends AND new friends I met there. Huge THANK YOU to Marlon and the New York folks for having us and showing love. This entire experience was worth the money and trip. I suggest you join next year and get some good experience if you love bowling. Can’t wait to go back. 🖤 PS. Not the greatest results this weekend at the two day City Tournament. However, had a lot of fun with my guys. Bowling will always test your mental. Not spares, not striking, but the MENTAL aspect of my game is my biggest weakness. If you can’t have your focus or mental be strong, then you will struggle. What a long day!!! Missed the cut at a tournament today bowling on the Carmen Salvino sport pattern but I did go +68 so got that goin for me which is nice 😊 Anywho here’s a few shots of the new !Q Tour Ruby and also a lil throwback with the !Q Tour Emerald for comparison. For the !Q Tour Ruby I went with a Stronger pin-pap due to the nature of the Weightblock having a medium differential so to make the core a little more unstable I moved the pin 1/2” closer to my positive axis point and also drilled into the core a little deeper on the thumb to elongate the Weightblock a little and cause it to be more unstable. The result I got was a far better !Q ball reaction than my usual 5” pin (due to the Weightblock being put at a more stable position in relation to my positive axis point) . In comparison to my Emerald; the Emerald was just a tad smoother but it could also be due to both surface prep and layout (see tech specs below). The Ruby with a stronger pin-pap than my usual 5” pin puts it in the benchmark category while a Ruby with a 5” pin-pap would put it in my 4th or 5h slot in the bag. Not the result I wanted, but it was a fun sweepers/tournament this past weekend. Placed 8th out of 30+ overall and 6th in handicap. Hard to win when people have a high amount of handicap and I did not bowl the greatest either until my third game saved me lol. Fun weekend with the guys and gals. League Night is back after having a bye week last week due to a tournament that was taking place. Tonight the team we're suppose to bowl against decided to pre bowl (maybe afraid of us) and just bowled ourselves. . The lanes were good and friction was there in the backend of the pattern, so scores should be high. I stayed with the Phaze II ball all night and made some minor adjustments. I only opened frame just once during to a stupid split. . Congrats to my boy @ry_thelegend for his 300 game, which was really exciting to watch. My team is great and well put together and hoping to keep this team together next season. . Today was me and the little bro @aaron.calica.06 second go at @junior_amateur_tour Doubles. Unfortunately we did not qualify for the cut. He averaged 200 even and I averaged 202 . Just goes to show in bowling you have to be on your A game. A lot of great bowlers in the field today. We definitely did not do our best but we tried and had a lot of fun. We learn with every loss. I had a chance to bowl the 1K Event At Southtown Lanes. It was a chance at redemption on the 45ft Route 66 pattern that kicked my a$$ this summer. I qualified for 3rd in the step ladder and was able to climb the ladder to 1st.
