Let’s start over. I’ve been confused the last few years. Not really knowing WHAT I wanted to share though I’ve wanted to share it ALL. They tell you in “social media school” that you should be very specific in what you share b/c you want to be ‘known’ for providing specific value. But I’m more than recipes. I had fun with that during 2023, but that’s not ALL I want to share. Midlife is complicated enough…I don’t need to add more complication to my life so how about I just share MIDLIFE…and how I’m navigating through it? 2020 changed me 2021 exhausted me 2022 nearly broke me 2023 questioned me 2024 revived me As a nurse working in the pandemic my world forever changed—and it’s never been the same since. It became so exhausting living in a chaotic divided world, sickness & overwhelm. I clung to the positives which was my growing wellness business. I didn’t know at the time but 2022 was going to be the worst year yet when my body went haywire with excruciating chronic pain and neurosurgery. Frozen shoulder, elbow & wrist pain, the lack of mobility—it almost got me. But my business saved me. If it wasn’t for the community of women I was helping and the women on my team I’m not sure what would’ve happened. As I was digging myself out of the dark hole in 2023 I started to question if I should continue sharing on social. Was it even worth it? But a spark started to ignite in mid/late January this year. The months of work I’ve done physically and mentally is now catching up. Taking better care of myself with nutrition, sleep, habits, what I read & listen to…I’m feeling the momentum. My income is growing this year. I’m finding joy in the every day again. I’m feeling stronger. I’m back in the driver seat of life again. I’m not here to ‘play by the rules’ or worry about my following, likes or comments. I’m here to CONNECT with YOU… the woman out there who feels broken, stressed, overwhelmed. We’re allowed to pivot. I want to share ALL that’s helped ME past this difficult life hurdle. My instagram feed isn’t all or nothing. It will be sharing everything that took me from survival to revival.💞 #ImBack #butdifferent

Took myself on a breakfast date this morning to the always delicious @destroyer.la (where it’s also great for people watching). It’s just over a week before my birthday and I am starting yet another new chapter in my life. This current transition feels significant. Not that others haven’t. But this moment feels in alignment with my continued journey of living intentionally. After an extremely challenging year, things are starting to feel hopeful again. I’m navigating my life’s direction. And it feels good. And in this moment, I am completely unafraid and open to the unknown. I wish I could be sharing this with my mom as she just wanted me to be happy and do well in life. But she is living through me now. Instead of partying it up on Friday night to celebrate, my body had other things in store for me. I’ve been forced to rest. I’m so used to just going, going, going that having a brief pause has everything catching up to me. And even though I have a laundry list of adulting “to-do’s” (including laundry), I am taking the recurring advice of multiple sources (including my therapist) to give myself some grace. To do “nothing”. To, as the young kids are calling it, “bed rot”. And though I am totally incapable of doing JUST that (as I continue to write this while waiting for my dental appointment), I am doing my version of it. I can be productive, but I don’t have to give myself undue stress about it. And remember, especially in honor of my mother, to take my time. Good things DEFINITELY come to those who wait.
