I don't have too much to say about this one besides that it was again a mystery photo that showed up on my camera which I discovered on review. Up until about an hour ago, the picture was upside down. I turned it over, immediately saw the figure of a female towards the middle of the image... as if she was on a stake... and for whatever reason, right when I saw her, the name Joan of Arc popped into my thoughts. Not really knowing the real history of the patron saint of France, I looked up her story. It seemed quite appropriate for the piece.. at least in my mind. I seriously have no idea where it came from... this one was seriously lost in the depths of my mind... and out it came... "Mesmerise," by Chapterhouse is this piece's theme song, and the title, I'm With You is one tiny piece of the lyrics... it seemed appropriate. With all the doomsday talk recently.. I had become involved with all the prophecies... Nostradamus and the 3 Anti-Christs... So yes, this is about the most coverage of the total eclipse that I was able to see from my location. It was rather eerie... the clouds rolled in at the perfect time, allowing me to actually get a better view of the event, through a thin veil almost... the colors of the clouds were so intense... I will show you those too... I'm running out of space... quickly.. I see three faces in the clouds... right smack in the middle, I see an almost profile view of none other than AntiChrist #2, Hitler. He is looking up to the right corner of the image, where I clearly see the face of a Lion. Next to the lion... a third face... it looks like a shady person but no one I recognize... and right when it became slightly darker at my location, I heard a disturbance nearby in the water... (I was alone in some wetlands along a tributary of a nearby river...)... you won't believe what happened next. Like a light switch, I turn it on and off thinking about those children I meet on the dirt roads of remote villages, mostly somewhere around the edges of the world I know. I take in their big eyes, all the curiosity tattooed on their faces, envious that they live in a big world, with so much space for wonder, uninfected by the modern age. I don't take their homecomings, an emaciated mothers and fathers, tired of the daily grind of surviving in that same age. I take the peace and their acceptance of whatever comes or doesn't come, gratitude for the little things. I don't take an unchanging tradition that shackles them and binds them for the long term to the pillars they grew up close to. I take nights colored only by stars and long mornings with the buzzing of bees. I don't take the disappointment that awaits them if they do go to town for something more. I turn myself on and off, I travel, I don't travel............Poput prekidača za svjetlo, uključujem i isključujem razmišljanje o toj djeci koju srećem po zemljanim putevima zabačenih sela, uglavnom negdje po rubovima svijeta kojeg poznajem. Uzimam njihove velike oči, svu znatiželju tetoviranu na njihovim licima, zavidan što žive u velikom svijetu, s toliko prostora za čuđenje, nezaraženi modernim dobom. Ne uzimam njihove povratke doma, ispijene majke i očeve, umorne od svakodnevnice preživljavanja u tom istom dobu. Uzimam mir i njihovo prihvačanje svega što dođe ili ne dođe, zahvalnost na malim stvarima. Ne uzimam nepromjenjivu tradiciju koja ih stavlja u okove i dugoročno veže za stupove blizu kojih su odrasli. Uzimam noći obojane samo zvjezdama i dugačka jutra uz zujanje pčela. Ne uzimam razočaranje koje ih čeka ako ipak odu u grad po nešto više. It is the same osprey as featured in my early piece titled Blood Petals. This image was brought back to me yesterday. When I started working on it, I had no idea that this would be the outcome. With his big fingers, he carefully followed the lines of the text as if he was afraid that he would skip something, perhaps drop a vital part of an important inner thought. Scandinavian spring This photo was shot on iPhone. Sweden, 2018. Самые яркие воспоминания о скандинавской весне: свежий воздух, солнце, ветер, свобода. Часто на майские праздники мы уезжали в Прибалтику или Финляндию. Оттуда ходят паромы в Стокгольм. Можно уплыть вечером из Риги или Таллина, а утром проснуться в Швеции среди крошечных островов архипелага, приближаясь к Стокгольму. Погулять там денек или подольше и вернуться потом в Хельсинки. Или наоборот. Так в одно путешествие можно побывать в трех странах, без перелетов и прочих сложностей. Стоимость поездки вполне соизмерима с ночевкой в гостинице. На пароме удобные каюты, несколько палуб, магазины, рестораны, детские игровые, концерты и еще много всего. У шведских пенсионеров модно уплыть на выходные в Прибалтику, а из Прибалтики в основном молодежь путешествует.
