A time travel back to Beijing Road, Guangzhou 📸: Canon AE-1 with Tamron Adaptall-2 35-70mm f/3.5 lens 🎞️: Vibe Max 800 Developed & Scanned by @filem.sg Beijing Road is one of two main shopping streets that is well known and often visited in Guangzhou, the other being Shangxiajiu. It is somewhat interesting to see the results of experimenting with this Vibe film roll, as this shot does feel like it time travelled back to the 80s or even late 70s here! Minor auto adjustments in Adobe Lightroom were made only when necessary in order to preserve the original film roll colours.
The Golden Arches at the heart of Dongmen, Shenzhen 📸: Canon R6 Mark II with EF 24-105mm f/4L lens Dongmen (东门） is a shopping and pedestrian street in Luohu, Shenzhen, and is situated close to the border with Hong Kong. As such, it is one of the older districts in Shenzhen and it is no surprise that the first McDonalds fast food restaurant to ever open in Mainland China in 1990 is right over here, with a unique eye-catching design. No noise reduction was applied so as to give the shot an aged and weathered look.

To understand Nanjing, one must first understand the origins and the meaning of the Nanjing Massacre, which dominates the local culture of Nanjing to this day.
One of the most famous sights in Shanghai was the Yu Yuan Garden. The buildings there are a stark contrast to the skyscrapers all around the city and I felt like in another world immediately. There will be some more shots soon in the Yu Yuan Garden, so stay tuned :)

The largest part of the Summer School I spent in Shanghai, the biggest city I have ever been in. I could get some good impressions of the lifestyle in one of the biggest cities in the world, and even though I was told Shanghai is very different from the rest of China (kind of like China 5 years in the future), it still helped me to understand the Chinese way of thinking, and showed me that this country is not all black and white either when it comes to opinions. Anyways, Shanghai was definitely an experience, and even though it is one of the most international cities on the planet, us, a large group of European students, still got plenty of attention on the streets. Probably more photos were taken of me on this trip, than I took photos with my camera😂 Shanghai also probably has one of the greatest skylines in the world. Every time I stood in front of it, it blew my mind again. Shanghai is definitely worth a visit for the skyline alone.
Had the opportunity to visit China during a Summer School. My favorite part by far was getting insights into the rich culture of this 5,000 year old country. The first pics from China will therefore be from one of my favorite destinations in the Henan Region: The Shaolin Kung Fu School, which is the biggest and most accomplished one in the world with over 35,000 students between 7 and 18 years old. We were also shown an incredible Kung Fu performance, which I won't share here, but take my word for it🙃

A narrow shikumen lane of Xintiandi 📸: Canon 6D with EF 24-105mm f/4L lens The main walkways of the Xintiandi entertainment and shopping district may be crowded and bustling at night, but a walk further into the narrow shikumen lanes at the side are quieter and has a somewhat neo-noir feel at times. However, it should also be noted that these lanes are often actually renovated ones as a number of Shanghainese families were displaced during redevelopment of Xintiandi and the district has now become one of the most expensive places to live in Shanghai.
