Its our Pre Cart Cell theraphy days at @nus_singapore and we are feeling grateful to be reached till this stage which is costing us millions in Mahiyaa’s Cancer fighting Journey. On this day in the hospital I have met patient and a parent who is not enough fund to continue their child treatment in Nuh and I learned that they looking for some crowd funding. I realised how many of us is out there not knowing the importance of savings and insurance for us as the treatments are very expensive nowadays. Compared to 10 years back, many have a medical card now. But not many aware of what is the limitations. I see so many with an annual limit of 50k or so which will not be sufficient at all to treat any kind of chronic illness. As per my understanding at the diagnosing stage itself, the 50k will finish 🥲. As someone who has been seeing so many children failed in their cancer journey due to financial restrictions, I plea the insurance agents to don't just sell. Be considerate and do a proper job. Explain the benefits and limitations well to your clients. Ensure you are properly trained too. Don’t simply sell for commissions only. Parents and individuals please have enough savings or else get good insurance for your kids and yourself. It's important also to check what's in your insurance package if you have already bought it before. I know some reputable insurance agents like @k.selvi77 (Prudential) @vanasundari_tokio_marine_life @shalini_salvakumaran (AIA) who is taking their jobs very seriously and willing to help to check on your existing policy for no cost and advice you accordingly. Day 19 - 30 March 2022 Finally, the day was here for us to get admitted to receive the modified version of CAR T-Cell which will be life saving treatment for her. Before Mahiyaa receives the new cells to fight cancer in her body, she’ll need some chemotherapy so her immune system doesn’t reject them. She’ll receive the new cells after her chemotherapy via infusion. We will probably need to stay in the hospital for this part of the treatment for 21-30 days so that the healthcare team can closely monitor her progress and the process. Since there will be another round of chemotherapy we get her head shaved as she going to shed hair again. The brother also wants to join in supporting her this time too. We head for the temple and watched Sonic The hedgehog movie before admission on that day. As a mother, my heart felt so heavy wondering how it is going to be the next 3-4 weeks at the hospital thinking of side effects which at times, cause serious life-threatening problems.
