The @canadamanwoman isn't the usual triathlon...The climbing on the bike is impressive with 8000 feet up and the marathon, the last discipline, climb to the summit of Mont Mégantic for a total of 5000 feet of climbing! The transition 2 is situated at the top of one of the most impressive hill of all the Eastern townships. Our Race stats! So proud of us! We did great!! We are beat our personal bests in each event! 17 did not finish the swim due to the waves and such. About another 5 to 10 didn't finish the bike due to the serious inclines!! We all finished and beat our best times from practice!! So this past weekend my wife and I were in Lac Megantic camping in our new to us fifth wheel to celebrate our 12th anniversary! While this is the earliest camp we have ever done, it gave us opportunity to practice the running at biking courses for the Canada Man/Woman Sprint Triathlon we will be doing in July. It was far too cold to attempt a swim but at least we conquered the bike route...there is a hill that is 2km long and begins as a 13% grade then gradually levels off to 8%....2km is looonnngggg when you are going uphill! While we both did well, we need to up our biking training on hills...good thing Montreal has lots of hills to practice on!!
