It was a concoction of vodka, guava nectar, ginger and lychee syrup, and lemon juice topped with guava cider and a lemon slice. The alcohol wasn’t strong in this one, but it had a gentle and pleasant flavor from the guava and lychee!! Ginger wasn’t strong, which was nice as I’m not a ginger fan. I’d get this one again!! While the Flower & Garden Festival is usually my favorite for vegan options, last year we had quite a few tasty dishes for us. ❓Which vegan items do you hope make a triumphant return for 2024? Day 25: part 2 We next headed for Avengers campus cause brian needed a sweater. Once he was properly dressed for the unexpected chill/damp weather and we met up with another friend we headed into Pym's for the next snack. Before heading out of the Campus, our new party member hadn't ever ridden the Spiderman ride so we had to jump on. We did the single-rider line, which only took like 10min. Sure we didnt get to ride together, but you cant beat that wait time. Next we decided to loop around to Soarin since it was still the California version. But as we got into line they announced a technical difficulty causing the wait time more than double, so we gave it up and wandered back to the Pier for one last snack and a beer before the sun fully disappeared. Chock full of goodness we waddled back to the tram in the the drizzly rain and drove back to the hotel. Me and Jess needed one more drink and snack, so we stopped at the hotel bar for our standard drinks and their tot-nachos. The tot-nachos were actually quite tastey. We tried the NEW MENU at Kona Cafe in Disney World! 🌺🍱🥪🍲🍰🏝️ This Hawaiian themed casual restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been a long time favorite of ours here at DFB. It comes in clutch with breakfast, lunch, AND dinner menus that are unique and moderately priced (for Disney 😅). But there are several long-standing favorites that have cult status among fans, too (Tonga toast, macadamia nut pancakes, sticky wings, etc). We tried a few classic and new menu items yesterday and had another good experience. Day 25: A Golden Monday pt 1 Since the show is in Costa Mesa for 2 weeks everyone got a proper day off on Monday. So what did we do to rest up on this glorious full day off? Go to Disneyland of course! Pregamed with some starbucks next to the hotel, then it was off to the park! The whole day was about eating, drinking, and people watching. No rushing about or waiting in long ride lines. The only "appointment" we had was at Oga's Cantina first thing in the morning and the rest of the day was meandering. Brian also made an appointment to make a lightsaber, so me and Jess recharged with some coco puff coffee while we waited for him. Robin demanded a churro before we hopped parks, "they're just better on this side!" Then over in DCA we took advantage of the last day of the food&wine festival by stopping at several carts for snacks and drinks. The "old fashion" ice cream bar was fascinating, all the flavors of a old fashion cocktail but non-alcoholic. But the grilled top sirloin with chimichurri was the Star! After walking off that round of snacks around the Pixar pier we lucked out on being able to walkup at the Lamplight lounge's boardwalk seating area. Got some more tastey concoctions and watched them test the world of color sprayers while eatting this bomb cheese/artichoke/pork dip. As we headed out of the lamplight Jess had a question for the facepaimter right out front. She asked if they every painted anything other than faces, and the girl looked super confused/concerned. When Jess showed her what she intended it made sense. She has a tattoo that is just line art, and she wondered if they would be able to basically color it in however thry would like. And without batting an eye the girl tells Jess to pull up a seat and she sets to work.
