An exception to a 200-year-old scientific law governing heat transfer has been discovered, thanks to researchers in @umasscns’s Department of Polymer Science and Engineering. Steve Granick, Robert K. Barrett professor of polymer science and engineering and the paper’s senior author, recalled that this work began with a simple question: “What if heat could be transmitted by another pathway, not just the one that people had assumed?” The research, published in the “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,” explains how the team discovered that translucent materials—such as certain polymers and inorganic glasses—allow energy to radiate internally, thereby creating a secondary heat source that moves throughout the material. A data remete a morte de 78 trabalhadores (as) causada por explosão em uma mina nos Estados Unidos no dia 28 de abril de 1969. ⚠ A Saúde e Segurança do Trabalhador e da Trabalhadora é um direito fundamental de cidadania reconhecido pela Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) e Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS). No entanto, a cada 15 segundos, uma pessoa morre no mundo por acidentes de trabalho.
