Versuche mich mittlerweile immer mehr mit den kurzen Haaren anzufreunden- „sind ja nur Haare“ stimmt auch vollkommen-wären mir die anderen Symptome erspart geblieben-dann hätte ich auch freiwillig meine Haare für immer abgegeben😄 Aber Haare geben einer Frau das Gefühl von Normalität & Weiblichkeit. Ich vermisse meine Haare, mein altes Ich, einfach mein altes Leben- ihr könnt euch nicht vorstellen wie schwer es ist zu akzeptieren dass nichts wieder wird wie es einmal war. Während der Therapie dachte ich mir immer „wenn das vorbei ist, dann werde ich wieder die alte“ leute..nein. Man wird nie wieder wie man mal war. Wichtig ist jetzt nur was man aus der Situation macht,nimmt man das an und gibt sein bestes das neue Ich lieben und kennen zu lernen, oder versinkt man in dem Strudel des trauerns. Ich entscheide mich defintiv für die erste Variante aber es ist verdammt nochmal schwer und bedarf enorm viel Geduld mit sich selber. Kendall’s EKG looks great. Her ultrasound went well as well. She’s ok to come off her blood thinners as her blood clots are calcified and not going anywhere. Her Dr feels the blood thinners aren’t doing anything for her at this point. We will repeat her petscan in June and see where to go from here. Today we received Kendall’s petscan/ct results. We got cleared to remove her picc line for now and repeat scan in 8 weeks. Results still show stuff going on in her chest but could also be breakdown still releasing from her body from her last chemo admission. 🙌 I’ll take that as a win and relief for now. We still aren’t in the clear but that’s a good start to good news. We have to do an ultrasound on her blood clots and EKG to check her heart. She will be free of her picc line after tomorrow afternoon as her home health nurse will come and do some labs and pull out her picc line tomorrow. Yay!! Kendall is terrified t get her picc line pulled out so I’m hoping all will be good and easy peasy! Thank you every single one of you for all the prayers while we transition to somewhat of a normal life for the next 8 weeks. I’ll continue to post updates as things happen. How it started and how it’s going 🙏🏽 feb 12 my Frenchie was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. They say with no treatment he has 1 week to 1 month to live and with chemotherapy he has 6 months to 1 year to live. 🥲 they say it’s no cure so my only thought and only shot was to change the food to be able to help my dog “blue”. Everything is processed these days so I put him on a fruit, vegetable and fish diet along with chemo treatment but I did not inform the doctors on the diet change My goal is to stop chemo and go all in!! Všetko to začalo pred piatimi mesiacmi, kedy som si našla na krku zväčšenú uzlinu. Nebola som chorá, ani ma nič nebolelo, no obvodná pani doktorka ma aj tak pre istotu poslala na röntgen. A tam sa to začalo. Pľúcne vyšetrenie, CTčko, hematológia a histológia na ORL. Výsledky potvrdili pre mňa ten najdesivejší scenár - rakovina. Konkrétne Hodgkinov lymfóm druhé štádium. Vtedy sa mi viac-menej úplne zastavil život. Prerušila som školu, brigádu a odišla z Bratislavy. Teda z internátu. Pravidelne som sa na liečbu vracala do Národného onkologického ústavu. Po štyroch cykloch som bola na PET-CT a dnes som šla na kontrolu asi s väčším stresom ako som mala pri obhajobe bakalárky. No pán primár mal pre mňa najlepšiu správu... ,,Veronika, ste v kompletnej remisii." V živote som nedostala krajší darček. No aj rakovina mi asi bola daná ako taká vtipná forma daru. Donútila má spomaliť, (naučiť sa háčkovať 😁), viac si vážiť zdravie a hlavne ešte viac dôverovať Tomu skrz koho som na tomto svete. Lebo ,,mne Boh pomáha a môj život udržiava Pán." In late February, life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lymphoma. This diagnosis came after months of dealing with unexplained fatigue and a noticeable drop in my athletic performance — symptoms I had naively waved away. The turning point was discovering a small, painless lymph node on my neck, which nudged me to seek medical advice. This was the start of a personal journey into cancer treatment, and a wake-up call about my lifestyle. The realization forced me to confront the uncomfortable truth about my lifestyle; it was not nearly as healthy as I had convinced myself it was. Years of stress, extreme sports, lack of sleep and neglected check-ups had given cancer the perfect environment in which to grow. While direct links between stress and cancer remain scientifically elusive, the evidence is clear that stress can make us more susceptible to a myriad of diseases. Ignoring the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) signals from our bodies can have dire consequences. Yet, it’s crucial to understand that early detection can dramatically enhance treatment outcomes. Our handsome monkey Odie has been diagnosed with terminal Lymphoma T (cancer) & we have been utterly heartbroken 💔 these past 4 weeks. But today he began Chemo to buy us all some extra special moments together! 4 weeks ago Winnie & Odie had their routine vet check up when our local vet felt a lump in Odie’s abdomen. After an ultrasound followed by a biopsy we were given the terrible news. Odie had a large octopus like mass inside his intestine. We opted to have it removed immediately even though it would not change his cancer being “terminal”. However it would buy him & us time together. The mass was only days away from rupturing & perforating the intestines wall. They removed 18cm of his intestines. Thats a lot for such a small little dude. He has been recovering well from the surgery over the past few weeks. His bloods were all good today to commence his chemo protocol. After finding out all our treatment options via Perth Pet Oncology I wasn’t happy with any of them as it still was going to be terminal, but we decided to opt for a middle of the range rather than a full LOPP protocol. The middle of the range would give him less side effects but not as long time. Quality over quantity, right? So here we are today & this little guy raced into the vet like a rocket collecting his frequent flyers points like he always does with his special bowl of hot BBQ chicken & started his chemo like a champion. I haven’t been able to post about our past 4 weeks earlier as it’s been too hard for me to accept his diagnoses & to be honest, I don’t think I’ve fully accepted it yet or if I ever will. I’ve struggled greatly & been ugly crying for weeks. It has also been very much triggering for us after everything we went through with Zachariah & his cancer battle. But today I felt it was time & I felt that little bit more stronger, have that little bit more optimism that we could get some great mths ++ with our Odie if he does well with his chemo. A month ago yesterday (shortly after this snap was taken) they found the first lump in my neck. A month ago today there was another lump on the other side of my neck. That’s when we went to the vets. A month ago in 4 days time, I went from thinking I’m totally healthy, to being told I have lymphoma cancer 🦠😱 there is no cure for lymphoma, it’s in your white blood cells and travels to all the organs with lymph cells in them (glands, spleen, liver, even eyes!!). But chemo is helping prolong my life and keep the cancer at bay so that I enjoy every minute I can. I was worried to post it yesterday as I wanted to hear it one more time again from the doctors but it’s true… I just heard it a second time: PET SCAN has shown no more active cancer cells! I will only need two more cycles - which means 8 more chemos. I tried to prepare myself for the worst but I am not sure how I would have taken it. Now I know I’m half way through and I couldn’t be happier !! It’s not going to be easier - yesterdays chemo wasn’t nice but there is an end in sight now !! Whoop whoop. Doctor showed me before and after PET scan pics … amazing technology!!! 🇩🇪 Gestern habe ich mich noch nicht getraut es hier zu posten; wollte es unbedingt heute nochmal von einem Arzt hören und gerade war es soweit: der PET SCAN zeigt keine aktiven Krebszellen mehr ! Ich werde nur noch 2 Zyklen durchlaufen müssen - 8 Chemos! Ich habe versucht mich auf worst case scenario einzustellen aber keine Ahnung wie das verkraftet hätte. Jetzt weiß ich dass ich Halbzeit schon erreicht habe und ich könnte nicht glücklicher sein. Es wird zwar nicht einfacher - die gestrige Chemo war nicht so toll aber zumindest sehe ich nun Licht am Ende des Tunnels! Whoop whoop. I know some of you may know already, but i wanted to share that our family's hearts were shattered Friday morning(3/29/24). I've not know a broken heart💔 like this. My love, my best friend, husband, amazing father, Grandpa, and Great grandpa...passed away abruptly during a hard fought, almost 2 year battle with a beast of a cancer. He was such a fighter, and i was honored to walk along side him and care for him on this rocky journey. I love him with every ounce of my heart and soul, and the words here cannot fully express that. I would've done anything and everything to save him, to heal him so he could be here with us. If love could've cured him, this would've been over as soon as it started. He was a great husband, and was always doing so much for me. Everything for me, the kids. Putting the rest of us before himself. Even still doing what he could manage around the house after he was sick. He always created a warm cozy atmosphere in our home. I can see him, and feel him everywhere i look...even in my car! But more importantly he loved me wholeheartedly and deeply. He always put me on a pedestal that I never thought I deserved. He did so many little things throughout every day, he was always so thoughtful. He always wanted the best for me, us...all of us. We were supposed to grow old together in the rocking chairs on the front porch, overlooking the smokey mountains. Thats where we hoped to head as soon as he was well enough. We were married on Good Friday, 17 years ago(4/6/07), and its a strange coincidence, although i dont believe in those, that he passed away, also on Good Friday. There's some kind of meaning there but my soul is too jumbled to figure it out right now.🤔 *continued in comments

So late in posting but Kendall update: she had to have a blood transfusion Tuesday. She was really low on her red blood cell counts. She’s finally starting to feel better. No more chemo scheduled as of now. She will have her petscan on April 11th and results on the 15th. So 🤞🏼 for good results.. 🙏🙏🙏 in the meantime we are just hanging out. Chemotherapy round 4 was today Today we had a longer chemotherapy I was at the oncologist for a few hours to get all of my blood work done and my intravenous chemotherapy I’m feeling very tired and low energy since it was a long day for me. They shaved my arm and now all I want to do is lick it. About a month and a half ago I was sent to the hospital for what I thought was food poisoning. After scans and blood work it turned out my chemo port was infected which goes to my bloodstream. They rushed me into surgery to remove the source of infection.. now I am left with a nasty size scar on my chest. I had a blood infection and it was the scariest and most terrifying experience of my life after a week of being in the hospital I was sent home, with home health care coming every day for 2 weeks. That postponed my chemo and made this journey in my life much longer. I am now just starting my second chemo treatment today March 25 and I’m feeling great.. #lymphoma #lymphomacancer #cancersucks
