We love Sandsend for a paddle but they’re all great. 🏛️ Peasholm Park is just a short stroll from Scarborough’s North Bay beach, the oriental themed park has a large range of unusual plants, and the beach huts on Scarborough front are a fabulous range of colours. ⛪️ Stand under the Whalebone arch and enjoy the views across Whitby upto the Abbey, then climb up the famous 199 steps in Whitby to the Abbey, and enjoy the views over the harbour and town 🛟 Visit the RNLI Lifeboat Museum Whitby, once a working lifeboat station this is now a quaint museum exploring the history of lifeboats in Whitby 🦀 Rock pooling at Robin Hoods Bay, or any of the fabulous beaches along the North Yorkshire coast - don't forget your net and bucket! 🥾 Take a trip to North Yorkshire Water Park, wander around the lake and spot the damsel fly, and enjoy watching the wake boarders. ⛰️ Visit Sutton Bank, one of North York Moors National Park visitor centres, there’s plenty of free family activities, plus take a short walk to enjoy the finest view in England. 🥾 Walk around Rosedale and see the historic Kilns, and enjoy fabulous views of the North York Moors. 🚂 The National Railway Museum in York tells the history of rail transport with some great locomotives and exhibits to enjoy including the Flying Scotsman. What a perfect way to escape light pollution, the Dark Skies festival is returning to the #northyorkmoors national park early 2024 and hosts a range of events from Stargazing to watercolour and photography workshops, and dark skies walks. Relax during the day and explore the sparkles in the sky at night. You can even star gaze from Low Costa Mill, guests have access to binoculars, star charts and we have free Wi-Fi, so apps like Stellarium can help identify and locate stars, planets and constellations. We’re Dave and Tracy and we live at Low Costa Mill with our family. It’s usually Tracy behind the emails, bookings, website, newsletter and social media posts, along with the day to day running of the cottages and sorting our fabulous team of housekeepers and garden staff to keep everything perfect on site. Dave has a day job saving energy, so is our eco expert, when not saving energy he can often be found around the gardens on a weekend or tending to the animals.
