This has been weighing on me for a few weeks, and I have been digging in my heels because change is messy, and I don't like messes. First of all, I LOVE the Happy Hippie Studio brand. It's who I *wish* I was. I tried so hard to live up to the name, and it forced me to do a lot of work on myself, which in turn made me a better person. The last year has forced me to face so many of my insecurities, and I'm beyond grateful for that growth. But you can't authentically connect with people based on who you *wish* you were... it's exhausting trying to "be the brand" all the time. I'm not always a Happy Hippie! Sometimes, I'm just a mom in leggings and a messy bun who likes to make pretty things. I don't know how many times I wrote blog posts or made reels and didn't share them because "that isn't very Happy Hippie of me." Those posts and reels were *too* authentic. They were the ones I NEEDED to share but couldn't because I'd named myself into a corner. I don't want to only connect with you as a company, I want to connect with you as a human. A flawed human who holds space for other flawed humans. So I'm changing my business name to Amy Lollis Design. This one has a tea stain and a hole that was repaired with brown thread. It was clearly loved enough to justify a repair, but it wasn't so precious as to keep it pristine. The story doesn't matter, it could be one of thousands of stories. What matters is that I'm thinking of the person who made it, and absorbing her story into mine by including it in my quilt. Raven claw has featured a few times on my feed now but i want to share something of my process. When a piece is made I ONLY create in a high vibrational headspace really focusing on the mythology or history behind an idea or theme that interests me. This is essential & really important to me as I believe it's felt for wearer. While working on raven I experimented with different wax buildup techniques while absorbing & listening to podcasts on history of viking woman I had no idea why I wanted to call her raven after completion, it just felt right, but this week while listening to a valkyries- viking podcast i learned that ravens were said to be associated and connected to valkyries (Thats a whole other story) the beautiful norse armored warrior spirits, funnily enough I have recently created valkyries amulets. 🥺I made a huge mistake again! So as not to listen to my intuitions and heart. Thinking again, of how will the people around me see me, how will it be received if I come out wholly to be who I am? (Hiding so much I have gallery full of videos, photos and so much I have created but not posted yet!) Last time I did this I almost broke my right wrist, I had a ligament tear and couldn't do a thing from my right wrist for weeks. This time It took a while 3 weeks and then I manifested this physical form of getting a high fever. Damn painful that I felt I couldn't open my eyes so I slept through and I felt like the Universe hit me hard! Like why child? Why do you do this? And I said fine I get it. I am sorry, I went hiding again. I won't hide anymore. I will stand tall. I will show up and you make stages for me to show up freely as you made me. 2023? It's all blurry at this moment. Life. The whole moment passes by and yet there is this seeping feeling inside my heart. While there is this void, these blurry days, there is a clarity of wholeness it is. . This is where I am. This is where I and Divine meet. This is where Divinity is me and I am. It took me a lot of time to come here, walk, run, crawl and come this far. . Away from all the noises that kept me small, away from all the chaos that kept me saying this is all that is but I never gave up. . I never did and I never will. So this happened Yesterday! My Crystal Gua Sha Broke OR look at it like, My crystal Gua Sha, my self-care routine tool broke. 2months before I promised myself to devote more to a self-caring journey for myself. It was kinda an ouch feeling when I saw the pieces of it on the floor. But I realized there was something for me to see here and what was it? was it a divine ending or beginning? Now, How did it break? It's still a mystery as my cats refused to call name or answer who did it or maybe it was the curtain swept by the wind. Doesn't Matter. Doesn't Care. It's done now. All I have is these pieces of broken crystal and when I connected to these pieces and asked them what is it for me to learn here?? It reminded me of all things that have happened lately and especially that happened just a few mins before I found this broken. So just a few mins before I was on a call and closed something big, like a vision that I had been calling in my life but was doubting myself all along. But It did happen! and a few days ago when I was in Bangalore I lost my Garnet ring, which I had bought for myself as a self-love gift to myself. That my love, My growth, My Divine purpose of my soul is above all, it was a reminder and I lost it! I also had a deep inventory of my relationships with my loved ones and had to make the most heartbreaking decisions to part ways with them. Fuck it is painful and like it can kill you! But now, that I look at it as these broken pieces of crystals and the Divine talking to me I know it was an ending but such a beautiful Upgraded Beginning to another season of my life. With many beginnings in life, you will also experience ending, endings that will wrench your heart and feel like you are holding all your insides in your fist. He holds a conch shell, a disc of energy, a leech(as it has healing properties to suck impurities from blood), and a pot of celestial ambrosia that came from the churning process (Sagara Manthan). Dhanvantari first appeared during the churning process (Sagara Manthan) holding the long sought pot of nectar. . Later, Lord Dhanvantari was later born in a royal household in Kashi/ Varanasi to king Dhirgatamas, where he taught the science of Ayurveda orally to rishis and sages like Susruta, Pauskalavata, Aurabha, Vaitarana, and others. His disciple Susruta came to be known as the father of Indian Surgery. One of the important parts of a healer's kit in those days was leeches - which were used to suck out impure blood from the body to cure the patient, that is why Lord Dhanvantari is sometimes depicted as holding a leech in one hand. Lord Dhanvantari is known as the father of Ayurveda and is believed to have powers to prevent deadly and incurable diseases. The knowledge and principles of Ayurveda taught by him are timeless and in sync with the universal laws of nature. It's written in the scriptures that "one who remembers the name Dhanvantari can be released from all sufferings." . 🎉Indians celebrate their birthday every year on Dhanteras or Dhanvantari Triodashi which falls two days before Diwali. Physically may be one can't seize to know and literally see the difference. But everyday, every moment we are changing so much that for our human eye to see and grasp is beyond. I have felt this so strongly in my Heart often when my planned works get delayed or something comes up. I have struggled long to cultivate a boundary and set my foot with my people around not to take me for stretch and granted for my energy. However, I also admit I feel so weak sometimes in front of my parents and family. When this happens, I used to feel guilty about why and what is happening? Am I lacking behind? Again? Why? Am I going off track? Why? Will I be able to pivot back into it? . I have been able to pivot back into something which was not lost or I was never off track. WAVE STUDY. . I have taken way too much time away from pen & ink mindful slow drawing. Tonight I grabbed a 4x4 inch piece of drawing paper and my Sakura pens and settled in for some open-ended drawing to loosen up. It felt good to lose myself in the slow, meditative lines. I need to take more time to play and explore with no end result in mind. When I work intuitively, my creative well opens up and everything flows more organically and easily.
I recently moved and I’m now surrounded by a forest and I work from home. My focus, work ethic, and creativity are flowing better than they have in a long time. I swear it’s the trees. I am not really a city person and my past living situation was directly affecting my ability to work well and consistently. Not ideal. I had to change the situation and I’m so glad I did! How your work environment makes you feel and affects your energy is going to be crucial to your success in the long term. I don’t work well in an office. In a high rise. In a busy corporate environment. I get blocked, stressed, anxious, and lose my ideas. I stuck with that for a long time cause it was stable and “normal”. It also sucked energy and blocked creativity (for me). It took me years to realize that and figure out a way to create my own ideal work situation. Now, I’m on an acreage and can get all the grounding energy I need from nature whenever I want. Nature breaks are, in my opinion, a key tool towards growing a mindful, energy-led business.
