The very first Aromatherapy workshop that I held was for a health food store in Sydney in the early 90s. At the time, I presumed that the workshop would take place in the store for a small group of regular customers. But then I learnt that it was to be held centre stage in the middle of a massive shopping centre. It was too late to back out, the date had been set. I was terrified! I remember thinking that I really didn’t want to do it but then asked myself how I’d feel seeing someone else do it instead of me. I knew that I couldn’t let that happen so I decided to muster every bit of courage and confidence I could and give it my very best. I’ve used that same technique many times in my work and in my personal life. I even used it to finally finish my book and put it out there. HOLY HYYGE 🏠 Okay okay, I know this is the second time this book is making an appearance in my feed… BUT I just finished reading this one with @erica_reads_books & our friend Stephane and I loved it!! There were so many wise snippets throughout the book, and many parts I found applicable to my current season of life. (swipe to see some of my favorite highlights) The author offers a number of practical way to implement throughout the book as well as an appendix of ideas to gather people and create hygge in your home and community! Getting to discuss this book each week over the last couple of months with these girls led to so much life-giving conversation and some deep connection, too. I highly recommend this book to anyone who longs to have a home that welcomes all who enter, including those who dwell within, into deeper relationship with Christ. It’s a great pick for women’s small groups, with discussion questions at the end of each chapter, along with scripture references, which could also be used for personal reflection if reading individually. Aromatherapy for relaxation and focus. If you’re using essential oils during the day for stress, it’s a good idea to add an uplifting citrus oil for a mood and energy boost. When we’re stressed, we can often feel a bit flat and tired. White grapefruit is fresh, uplifting and also good for clarity. Lavender is soothing and calming and blends beautifully with other citrus oils. Frankincense helps us to slow down, breathe a little deeper and focus. You can use this blend in a diffuser and it also makes a beautifully relaxing and uplifting bath oil by adding the blend into a spoonful of a light carrier oil (such as Sunflower) before adding to a warm bath tub.
