For the people who didn't read the story of my caladium tubers... I bought 8 caladium tubers online last year and didn't plant them nor store them correctly. I basically forgot about them😬. When I found the box the tubers were almost all dried up. Some I just had to throw away and only 3 of them were ok to pot up. I didn't think of making a photo of the tubers looking all dried up because I honestly didn't have high hopes for them but here I am enjoying the stunning leaves that tuber has given me. Hope you had a lovely holiday and are staying healthy.🎄✨ It’s been a busy few weeks with the hustle and bustle of the holidays and I’ve been fighting a nasty cold 😮💨 (thankfully not Covid!), so I haven’t posted in a while… Introducing Rhipsalis Paradoxa. This epiphytic succulent cactus forms pendulous links that twist and turn in the most charming way. ⛓ Looks great in a hanging basket or cascading down a shelf. One of the things I love about Rhipsalis plants in general is that like most succulents, they’re very low maintenance. They thrive in bright, indirect light, but can tolerate shade, and have low water needs~ I water once every 1-2 weeks when the soil dries out. It's generally either too much water or not enough, and in our experience it's *almost* always too much. And it's not just you - most of us tend to smother our plant babies with too much love, and losing lots of sickly looking yellow leaves in the winter is all too common. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Winter watering tips:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Back off! If you usually water once a week, switch to CHECKING once a week. You may be surprised how much longer it takes soil to dry when it's cold and dark out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Water less, mist more. The air in our homes can get really dry when we start running the heater. You can mist your plants with a spray bottle, or even run a humidifier for them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Dust and clean leaves to prevent pests and improve photosynthesis! We love Oh Happy Plant Bath.
