To sem jaz in stvari, ki so se zgodile v štirih mesecih brez objave tukaj 🫣 Januarja sem tuftala preprogo, moja mini ilustracija se je preselila na večjo dimenzijo in postala mehka na otip. Sprobala sem sitotisk na različne tkanine, spet detajl iz te ilustracije. Februarja sem se lotila strojnih tehnik, svoje vzorce sem pripravila za žakarsko tkanje in strojno vezenje 🌸 in čez ogromno mizo pripravila razstavo za izpit in hkrati za informativne dneve. Marca se je zgodil en luštn dogodek, @srckolov_ (8), kjer sem sodelovala na pop-up stojnicah in spoznala velik fajnih soustvarjalcev, umetnikov in oblikovalcev 💜 kot model sem sodelovala tut pri eni krasni novi znamki in prvem projektu @sewists.appetite (11) V aprilu sem dve svoji deli (tapiseriji) predstavila v DobriVagi na skupinski razstavi Sveže ribe, kjer sta na voljo za nakup 🙆♀️ in se zelo na hitro odločila, da svoje vzorce prenesem tudi na oblačila 🌷 V vsem tem času sem spila tut ogromno dobre kave v krasni družbi ☕️ in se podala na lov za najboljšimi pistacijevimi rogljički 🤭🥐

CALL FOR ENTRIES - 2024 ↗ We asked our GDG network: Why is it worth applying to GDG? The support from GDG gave me a good start after graduation. Thanks to this support, I was able to present my work at Ambiente, for example, was present in the media and became part of the Mono Residency. This opened up many other opportunities, including valuable contacts with other graduates, the press and companies. After graduating, this definitely gave me the confidence to continue developing and presenting new projects. (Marie Radke - Graduation Projects: Familie Hempel + Volta) + We use more and more wireless devices whose batteries need to be recharged regularly. The smartphone, for example, is a corded phone (with an extremely short cord) for quite some time. The power socket, once used for nothing more than the vacuum cleaner, is now an integral part of everyday life. Often only accessible by bending and stretching, the socket is inconveniently placed for our everyday activities - even though more and more devices need to be charged. Due to the Corona crisis and the associated digitalisation push, the home office has become more relevant. At the latest after working from home all day, you know exactly where the sockets are in the room. While improvised solutions of multiple sockets under tables or sofas force us to bend and stretch, VOLTA brings the source to you. The collection consists of 3 objects: a multifunctional lamp, a multiple plug and an extension cable to clamp. So there is always a socket within reach. + ‚Familie Hempel‘ is a Hommage on the classic pile of clothes on a chair. It’s a collection of 4 members: A stool, a pouf, a bench, and a high seat, where you store clothes. ☻ The CALL FOR ENTRIES will run from 15 April - 15 May 2024. STUDIO MATERIAL: Through the Lens of Design. In a world where wastes are often overlooked and discarded, two design visionaries saw an opportunity to transform these materials into valuable resources, introducing innovative solutions to address current demands in product design. Vlanch Lariego undertook an exploration into the feasibility and potential of developing a new material derived from marine by-products, particularly fish scales. The challenge of this study was to examine the physical and chemical characteristics of fish scales and employ methods to transform these organic materials into versatile ones. She then developed a series of products utilizing the material generated from discarded fish scales as the primary component, taking into account the technical challenges brought about by this unconventional material choice. Meanwhile, Clent Yanola explored the potential of fibers found in garlic peels, an abundant agricultural waste. Overcoming the challenge of stabilizing the inherently brittle nature of the material, he strengthened it by combining composites and utilizing manufacturing processes, creating a collection of moderately experimental products that blend aesthetic appeal and functionality. These two aspiring product designers launched a mission in material development by employing diverse techniques and manipulations rooted in research, development, and sustainable practices. As their endeavors bear fruit, Studio Material begins to glimpse a future where waste is no longer seen as a burden but as a valuable resource waiting to be tapped, benefitting communities. Finally getting around to posting some projects… this was my last assignment in my graphic design 2 class. We were challenged to redesign classic novels to appeal to younger audiences. Separei algumas das possíveis razões para contar pra vocês: 1- Falta de interesse: Pode ser que o design não tenha despertado o seu interesse o suficiente para iniciar carreira nele. Cada pessoa tem suas paixões e habilidades únicas, e o design pode simplesmente não se alinhar com as suas. 2- Perferencias por outras áreas: Talvez você tenha encontrado outras áreas que o intrigam mais só que o design. Há uma ampla gama de campos por explorar, desde ciência e tecnologia até artes e humidades. 3- Dificuldade com as Habilidades necessárias: O design requer uma variedade de habilidades, como criatividade, habilidades técnicas e compreensão do publico-alvo. Se você não se sente confortável ou não possui essas habilidades, pode ser desencorajador começar no Design. 4- Falta de recursos ou acesso a educação: Pode ser difícil iniciar uma carreira nesta área por conta de existir as barreiras financeiras ou geográficas o acesso à educação formal em Design. 5 Incertezas sobre o mercado: O mercado de trabalho para designers pode ser competitivo e imprevisível em alguma áreas. Se você tem preocupações sobre a estabilidade ou oportunidades de emprego na indústria do Design, isso pode afetar a sua decisão de iniciar. 6- Outras paixões e objetivos de carreira: Pode ser que você então outras paixões ou objetivos de carreira que deseja perseguir primeiro. É perfeitamente válido explorar diferentes interesses antes de decidir o que deseja fazer ao longo do prazo. Essas são apenas algumas das possíveis razões pelas quais alguém pode optar por não iniciar uma carreira no design. Senior Showcase! Meet Quinn. Quinn is a senior majoring in Art New Studio Practice with emphasis in Illustration. In 2021 when the department was developing the new curriculum he started working on digital art with the guidance of Eric Carlson. Quinn was testing coursework for the upcoming illustration program and got to be the first student to try it out. In the process he realized it had become his passion and decided to pursue it as a career. Our Illustration program prepares students to be successful professional artists working in a ever shifting now. The Art New Studio Practice major provides a clear and distinct focus on what is "new" in contemporary visual arts. Officially finished my first semester of graphic design in university .
