"I’m so scared, please come." The last words of Hind Rajab, six, found dead in Gaza 12 days after her cry for help. The dispatcher, Rana al-Faqeh, said Hind told her she was afraid of the dark and asked for someone to come and rescue her. Today, the six year old child who pleaded with Red Crescent to rescue her was found dead, along with her family and two paramedics who tried to save her, just meters away in a bombed ambulance. Today, I overheard a man complaining that he "didn't have a dog in this race," but that this die-in was ruining the day of people who were "trying to enjoy themselves." Heute fand an der @unihamburg eine Die-In-Aktion an zwei Orten am Hauptcampus der Uni statt. Wir von Students for Palestine Hamburg schloßen uns mit dieser Aktion dem deutsch-französischen Palästina Aktionstag am 31.01. an. Seit dem 6. November gibt es aufgrund des israelischen Vernichtungskrieges in Gaza keine Lehre mehr. Seit dem 17. Januar gibt es in Gaza keine einzige Universität mehr. 94 ProfessorInnen sowie hunderte LehrerInnen wurden durch israelische Bomben getötet, ebenso wie nahezu 5000 StudentInnen und SchülerInnen. Doch die Uni Hamburg schweigt weiter und sendet somit ein erschreckendes Zeichen an alle palästinensischen StudentInnen und Lehrkräfte. PETA supporters dressed in bear masks and covered in “arrow wounds” sprawl on Union Jack flags as they “die-in” near the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) headquarters to protest its support of the slaughter of Canadian black bears for the Kings Guards bearskin caps. The action follows a new PETA video revealing how bears are baited with food and shot with crossbows by recreational hunters in Canada - a form of hunting that has been illegal in the UK since 1981. It takes the skin of at least one bear to make a single cap and according the MoD it has bought 498 bearskin hats between 2017 and 2022 – this is despite being offered a superior faux fur version, produced by ECOPEL, in 2017, with the offer of supplying an unlimited amount to the ministry for free for 10 years. If you don't understand the connection between capitalism/consumerism and war, you should think about it a little harder, and read a little more. As the message says: YOUR MONEY HAS POWER. That is incredibly true in America. That is incredibly important to remember on capitalist creations like Black Friday. I believe disruptions like this are important. They start conversations, they make people stop and think in the middle of their mindless consuming. Especially at this mall, which is mostly all high-end fashion (the mall is called "Fashion Valley," after all). Of course, we are all forced to take part in capitalism. Since 1200 Israelis were killed and 240 taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, more than 11,000 Palestinians have been killed, roughly half of them women and children. Untold numbers of bodies remain buried in the rubble left by Israeli airstrikes. As the loss of life becomes increasingly lopsided, calls for a ceasefire grow louder worldwide. 外務省前で花を配りました💐 たまたま大量の、重たいとも思える花花が手元にありました。花を手に入れる数時間前に「今晩、外務省前でダイインがあるから、一緒にいかない？」と10歳くらいからお互いを知っている人から連絡がありました。 その人はつい先日までアメリカ、ペルー、ヨーロッパと半年以上回っていて、大学の卒論はルワンダでの虐殺について書いています。木登りもするしお茶も点てる。ウイスキーや料理、お花に沖縄に関心を寄せていて、私達には沢山の盛り上がれる話があります。 その人から連絡があったので、外務省前で行われている「パレスチナでの現状」を日本政府に訴えるという趣旨のデモ、ダイインに参加しました。 何故、日本で現在見かけるデモにたいして、私ふくめ、拒否反応を示すのでしょう。私が参加し始めたのはつい最近だからこそ、「大義」の実現のために、この運動を大きくしていくための方法論について考えます。 また、今回は「ダイイン」も予定されており、小田原から外務省前にわざわざ一つしかない自分の身体を運んだのは、これに参加するためです。 「ダイイン【die-in】」とは、 何らかの犠牲者に擬して大地に横たわり抗議の表明をする示威行為です。1960年代に核軍備に反対して米国の市民グループが始めました。私が知っている範囲では、アニマルライツ、人権回復、エイズ、交通規制、気候変動、銃規制、死者への追悼など、様々な意見表明の手段として用いられています。 私は、外務省前での「ダイイン」に違和感を感じていたので、おそらく一番長く、ダイインをしていました。 デモを行うもの、そこに集うものにも生活があるために、ダイインの開始と終了には、主催者らしき人々から「今からやります」とか、「終わりました」とか、そういった合図が共有されます。それは、致し方ないところがあります。 しかし、死者に模する形で地面に横たわるのであれば、さらには、今回が「パ」での虐殺行為、つまり、死ぬ瞬間を選べなかった人々に対しての追悼も持つのであれば、私は、他者から決められた開始と終了に従うことは、出来ませんでした。ですから、「新造真人」という主体がDieinをするのであれば、どのようになるのか、そのようなことを実行しようとしました。 例えば銃殺されたとき、私は、ここで撃たれたい、などとは、選べない。だから、たまたま倒れるスペースがあったところに、倒れる。持ってきていた花を両腕に抱え、地面に横たわる。アスファルトから冷たさを感じる。すぐ横を人々が通り過ぎ、風が吹く。何人もが、集団としてのダイインが終わっても、一人として、ダイインを続ける私の写真を撮っていた。 警察官は明らかに二重基準であり、集団でダイインしてるさいは「交通の妨げになるので、地面に横たわらないで下さい」と、言う。何往復もする。そのようなポーズだけはする。そんなことを誰にも「耳を貸さない」とわかっていても、彼らはそれを「言い続ける」ことをやめない。ポーズが彼らの職務であるから。 だから、私が一人でやっている時は一切そんなことは言わない。一人の人間は指摘するに値しないのか、他に優先されるべきポーズがあるのか。それを考慮すると、一人が集い集団になることで、警官の行動を、ポーズの優先順位を変容させることが出来る。 デモが終わっても一人横たわったていたら、警察官は私に対して「交通の妨げになります」ではなく「デモは終わりましたよ」と言ってきた。私は私が見ることが出来た風景しか見えなかったので、彼らが伝えてくるまでデモの終わりを知らなかった。私は死に模しているので、他の人間たちのデモが終わろうが関係なくダイインを続行する。 そして、口を開けない私を案じたのか、私の身体を案ずるような発言を彼らはしたが、その言葉は「パ国」や、ホームレス、入管に収容されている人々に向けるべきである。彼らの二重基準にはヘドがでるが、同時に、彼らの良心の呵責について、勝手に私は思考を巡らせる。 友人が戻ってきて、私の周りにいる警察官に「この人は大丈夫ですよ」などと交通整備をしてくれたので、少しして私は、起き上がることにした。身体は冷え切り、四肢、指先ははかたくなっていた。瞳孔を開き、照準が合わないように天を眺めるのを数十分続けると、視界が黒ずむことを知った。私は、ダイインをして、身体の限界から、様々に知見を得た。 立ち上がった私は近くにいた人々に、花を、配った。「イ軍」が無差別に銃口を向けるのは対極に、私はこの人に花を渡したいと思えた人たちに花を配った。花を配りながら話をし、様々な出自や問題意識から、外務省前に集まった人たちがいた。 写真に写っている3人は、私が、一番楽しく話をした人々である。左の方とは「皇帝/肯定ペンギン」であるコウペンちゃんの話題で盛り上がった。（褒めることの支配構造などには言及せずに）、私はその人と、その人たちと、デモ、出身国、情報源、アパレル、アクセサリーなど、多岐にわたる話ができて、よかった。 #外務省 #ダイイン ＃フラワーデモは一般的には性加害の文脈で使われるけど、他の種類の抗議の場においても花を用いられる #diein #flower #flowerPower #flowerchildren
