This weekend my sister in service @rose_code_rituals and I were invited to serve at a sacred retreat on the unceded territory of the shíshálh nation for some of the strongest and most resilient women survivors I've ever met, embarking on a medicine journey. It is truly an honour to be in service, but these particular lands hold a special place in my heart as it was almost exactly one year ago I was called to this community to support the uncovering of 48 child graves from the genocide of the shíshálh nation. As we left the community, we stopped into the territory to pay our respects to the memorial statue. To serve in this work is to acknowledge, recognize, and empower resilience within individuals, and within communities. Resilience to heal, resilience to keep going, and resilience to share stories to raise awareness and let others know they are not alone. I sit in humility and awe of each person I encounter in this path, and gratitude to be called upon to serve. 💕
