It’s not goodbye forever… it’s just goodbye for now. As many of you have probably seen by now, my results from my patch tests were not the best. After having the dermatologist putting over 110 different patches on my back I had a severe allergic reaction to one of them… “2 part glues”. What’s that? Well, it’s epoxy resin. I knew, while having these patches on my back, at least one of them was having a bad reaction because I could feel the heat and the itching was driving me mad. When they took the patches off this area had gone bright red and blistered. I explained to the doctor what I do in my shop and he said that I needed to stop right away. After seeing my back and my pictures he added he’d only seen a reaction like mine on people who work on boats and planes because it’s in such a large scale. What does this mean for my shop? Well it means that, my shop is closed… this is the last thing I wanted. I am absolutely heartbroken. If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I have been doing everything I can to keep my shop open, creating my resin goodies. For the part 2 nearly 3 years I have put so much of my money, time and heart into my shop. I am so close to 3000 followers on Instagram, 1100+ followers on TikTok and so close to 1000 sales on Etsy.. but unfortunately I just can’t do it anymore. My aim with my shop was to create art while creating a safe space for everyone free from hate. With that being said, I just want to take this moment to say the biggest thank you to everyone who has supported my tiny shop. A follow, order, like, share, save, message, just anything has meant the world to me. I have made some incredible friendships through my shop. Right now, I don’t think I’ve got anything else I can add.. Remember me?… no? Well not to worry I know it’s been a while and I do apologise for that. As I shared on my story I went down to London to see my bestie. When I got back I went straight back to work only to come down with a nasty flu/cold so I’ve been off work all week and spent 90% of it in bed. It’s been so strange because I never spend time in bed or even time for myself like I have done this week. All I’ve done is sleep and watch films. It’s been nice to spend it in bed, even though I’ve used 3 toilet rolls blowing my nose till it’s red raw and doing a number of covid tests, just to be on the safe side. I’m feeling a little better today so I thought I’d give you a little update as to where I’ve been… I am working on orders and new bits behind the scenes. My shop is still open and running as normal. The face behind the business. I started doing my resin work just over a year ago and I wanted to just say hey! My name it Charlotte, I’m a performance graduate and have had 100001 jobs in my life but I’m currently working in the bakery at Tesco, while being a drama teacher AND having my small shop. I have two fur babies, Walter (baby) and Disney (mum). I am a HUGE musical theatre geek and you know that if there is a true crime documentary, I’m all over that. A little about my shop... I’ve had my shop for over two years. I started my small shop off by making floral wire mouse ears, they were pretty, but they weren’t what dragon lace designs was about. I saw a video about resin, I though ooo this seems easy... it isn’t 😂 But I thought I’d give it a go and I fell in love with what you could create. I want everyone to feel my safe on my page and a hate free space. I want to use my shop as a platform to spread positivity, love and happiness.
