One of the easiest cocktails to make during the festive period is the French 75. Originally this cocktail was created at @harrysbar_theoriginal in Paris. However, my version is slightly different. In honour of my old home city of Paris, I use the @griottines_officiel cherries. My recipe is very simple and is as followed: In a shaker place 30ml of @no3gin, 15ml of fresh lemon juice, and 5ml of simple syrup. Shake well and pour into your flutes, and top with your favourite champagne. Then add a bar spoon of the syrup from the griottine cherries, and add a cherry for decoration. Finally use a twist of an organic lemon, and enjoy. A visit to London isn’t complete without enjoying a musical or play. Last night at Manhattan Bar for the Friends of Manhattan with DUKES Bar from London. With a history spanning more than seven decades and the distinction of being Ian Fleming's preferred haunt, DUKES Bar brings its iconic Martini legacy to Manhattan. Meeting Alessandro Palazzi, often referred to as the "maestro of the martini," in person was a real treat, especially given that I've l seen him just on TV and online. The highlight of the evening was having his famed Martini, prepared right at my table on a cart. While in London went to Dukes for lunch. I didn’t get to the bar but did have an outstanding martini in the restaurant (aka the Great British Restaurant). The mushroom soup was creamy and so very light. The main course was pork belly with crusted fried egg, and peas. The whole meal was magnificent. I will be back next year and hope to meet Alessandro Palazzi.
