And yet, 98 per cent of the time you picked mine. Which always made me happy; feel special. (I worried I'd done something wrong if you picked one of the other beds.) Bonnie only has five beds. She's a nester. Likes a high bank. But recently, she's been sleeping st the foot of the bed (progress). Maybe one day, she'll assume the Gin sleeping position of 'wherever I land'. South Loch Citrus & Lime Flower Gin I just discovered an unopened bottles from @southlochgin on my shelf. This Edinburgh-based distillery share house with the 56North gin bar - the best gin destination I found in Edinburgh a few years ago. Neat this gin smells sweet lemon and something close to almonds. The mouthfeel is somewhat watery. There’s juniper and orange. The aftertaste is dry. The distillery homepage is nice, but it doesn’t have any serving suggestions. Lemon zest is a safe bet, but I can imagine any citrus will work. Maybe also something floral? South Loch Citrus & Lime Flower Gin served with Fever-Tree tonic and lemon zest. Gin, Hepple Gin - Northumberland - England 🇬🇧 Hepple Gin is a super delicious gin there is made on several different types of juniper types, from Balkan, Italy and from Hepple Spirits own area, where the green juniper they are using in this gin comes from. Tasting notes, strong juniper, but in the good way but together with the Amalfi lemons, blackcurrant and the other botanicals you get a strong but nicely rounded gin, which is so delicious. Herby served with Fewer-Tree Indian Tonic and dehydrated lemon - try it also with a edelfower tonic 👌 The botanicals there is used are several different juniper types - Amalfi lemons - blackcurrant leaves - coriander seeds - angelika - fennel seeds - blackcurrant berries - Douglas fir needles - licorice - lovage. Lovingly infused with fresh-pressed blueberries and zesty lemon peel, this is a truly wonderful gin liqueur, bursting with notes of citrusy and berries, and perfect for sipping. Friday at last 😊 And this week, at Black Mountains Botanicals, we’ll be enjoying a 'Ginger Rhubarb Gin Cocktail'. It’s the perfect balance between tart and sweetness, with a deliciously ‘warm and gingery’ afterglow. Perfect for your Friday evening tipple! The Ginger Rhubarb Gin Cocktail 😋 ❤️50ml Black Mountains Botanicals London Dry Gin ❤️25ml Ginger Simple Syrup ❤️50ml Rhubarb Juice ❤️50ml Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice ❤️Ginger Beer to top-up Plus… A Mint Sprig for the garnish Chop a stem of Rhubarb into small pieces and add to a saucepan, along with a splash of water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes (until the Rhubarb becomes soft). Strain through a sieve and set the juice aside to cool. Cut a ‘thumb sized’ piece of Fresh Ginger into slices and add to a pan, along with equal parts water and sugar. Bring to the boil and simmer for 1 minute. Then turn off the heat and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Strain the syrup into a jug and set aside to cool. In a mixing glass, combine the Gin, Rhubarb Juice, Ginger Simple Syrup and Lime Juice with a handful of ice and give it a good stir. Strain into a Collins Glass filled with ice (pre-lined with a spiral sliver of Rhubarb). Citadelle Juniper Decadence Gin This is one of the limited bottlings from @citadellegin in France. The gin is a homage to the juniper tree, and they’ve allowed the gin to rest in casks made from juniper wood. So, a different touch to celebrating juniper which I’ve only come across once before. Neat this gin smalls of juniper and sweet, saline ocean. The taste initially has a sweet lemon before juniper steels the show. There is a noticeable wooden quality alternating being sweet and dry. The aftertaste is more cask-focused resembling cardamom pods. I normally find it challenging to mix casked gin. Ginger beer is often used, or you can mix in a e.g. Negroni. Found a suggestion to use lemon which works somewhat ok. Citadelle Juniper Decadence Gin served with Fever-Tree tonic and lemon zest. 🌼 WHITE NEGRONI 🌼 Just so you know how seriously I take my cocktail creations, we’ve just been out to pick daisies. Yep, the neighbours thought we were going for a walk but, no…garnish hunting! 🌼 So, what do you get if you swap out the Campari for Suze and the Vermouth for Lillet Blanc? A beautiful White Negroni, invented by British bartender Wayne Collins in 2001, this is a Negroni riff that features Suze, a gentian liqueur which gives the same similar bitterness as the Campari, and Lillet Blanc, a wine-based aperitif. I followed the classic equal parts recipe, but you can dial back the Suze and ramp up the gin if you prefer, so that it’s 50/30/15ml: • 30ml Dry Gin • 30ml Lillet Blanc • 30ml Suze • Garnish with a lemon twist and daisies 🍋🌼

Løv Nordic Gin This new Norwegian gin from the newly formed @angrbrenneri outside Bergen just had official release. Availability is currently somewhat limited to a few locations around Bergen, but I would expect that to change. However, with family in Bergen and good friends in Stavanger @jensstrandell I managed to get my hands on a bottle. Neat this gin smells of juniper and sweet lemon. The taste starts with a short, sweet camphor hit. Juniper and lemon quickly take over, before a licorice aftertaste rounds it off. As this gin is new, I haven’t seen any serve suggestions.
