I can’t deny that I wined and dined like a queen @nobucdmx Now, this place is one of the few that I’ve gone too that was not budget friendly— but it was well worth the experience. Animal was the only other out of budget restaurant experience that I posted earlier this week. The sushi at Nobu was better than Animal, but the desserts, meats and appetizers at Animal make it a hard toss up. Back to Nobu— Everything was melt in the mouth delicious. If you’re going to Mexico City this place is a definite must try. Plus, it’s sooooooo beautiful. Date night approved, business meeting approved, girls night approved. I would refrain from bringing children to this adventure though. It’s more of a late night experience. Lastly, a friendly warning, don’t drop anything valuable. That apple watch in picture one, fell and someone took it. This surprised me because of how high end the restaurant was… who would want a series 3 2018 used watch!?! 😂 Fret not, it had since been replaced. But this was a good note to self to be more mindful of my surroundings and belongings. There's nothing quite like climbing down a hole in the desert floor only to come face to face with one of the worlds most deadly weapons ever placed into service of protecting the U.S. during the Cold War. If you're at at least as old as I am you'll probably remember those times very well as it was quite a scary time in the history of mankind and the world! The Titan Missile 2, 54 of them hidden below the ground stood 103' tall and weighing 330,000 lbs. They were on alert and manned 24hrs a day. They were capable of delivering an onboard W-53 nuclear warhead equivalent to a 9 megaton bomb (for reference, was 3x greater than all the bombs ever detonated during all of WW II.) to a distance of 5,500 mi with an accuracy of within 900 meters. Another incredible fact was that it could be launched within 60 seconds of receiving a launch order! The tour is very enlightening and will give a much greater appreciation of how lucky we are today that none of those ever left thier silos! We also got to go through a mock excersise of an actual launch order and Nicole was chosen as one of the captains on duty, which was fun but again drove home the weight and gravity that layed on each and every human being put in charge of of those responsibilities. Today, all the missles have been disassembled except for this one where the warhead has been removed but the rest is used as a museum to educate and remember.

Without question, the mighty Seguaro Cactus, standing high above any other living thing in the Sonoran desert, not only captivates your attention but fills your heart with every kind of awe & inspiration for such a beautiful work of nature and a unique symbol of strength & endurance against that which only the extremeties of life can bring! Seguaro National Park is a magnificent display of all that and more! Including the remnants of an ancient culture who also left thier marks of inspiration upon the stones of time for all the world to see! 🌵 😎 👍
Well, one of the main reasons we headed out this way was to explore the colorful and cultural town of Tucson and to meet up with my Son who moved out here over a year ago as well as to visit one of Nicoles nearby relatives, which was great! We found anazing sights at every turn during our stay but a couple I was definitely not aware or prepared for was all the beautiful street art illustrated on so many buildings especially downtown. Driving by the unfathomably huge Airforce boneyard and to have Dinner at El Charro Cafe, which happens to be the oldest continuously running family owned restaurant in the US! And everything about that place blew our minds! Thanks to Chase for showing us around town!

When thinking of the Southern Arizona Desert, I used to only think of baren landscapes clothed in a multidude of prickly plantlife stretching out as far as the eye could see baking under relentless waves of heat from the scorching sun. But those visions have recently been replaced upon visiting this breathtakingly beutiful National Monument tucked just below the I-10 corridor it remains mostly a hidden jewel at the crossroads of the Sierra Madres & the Rocky Mountains and both the Sonoran & Chihuahuan Deserts. It is considered one if the "Sky Islands" of Arizona rising up to an elevation of 6,000 ft. offering an array stunning rock formations such as fused-ash spires, volcanic castles, balanced rocks, hoodoos and whimsical rock gardens with pinnacles rising into the air for hundreds of feet! It is a wonderland of wildlife taking advantage of the cooler tempratures and the life sustaining presence of a natural spring. During our hike we saw a multidude of migrating birds, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, lizards and a rougue young Javelina! The name Chiricahua comes from a branch of Apache Indians who used to call this place home. The word Chiricahua translates to mean "chatter" as in the sounds that the Apache Warriors would make to communicate with each other during battles. The entrance fee to enter the park when we visited was our favorite price of FREE! But the memories made here were priceless.
Another great day on the road and another great FA-REeee campsite! This quite, beautiful and logistically perfect location for day trips over to the nearby area attractions is situated South of I-10 at Wilcox, AZ. We were the only ones there for most of our three day stay but we did gave a few visitors. But there was plenty of room for several rigs in here. Every night we were gifted with spectacular sunsets. There was much to see around this area, such as Chiricahua National Monument, Ft. Bowie National Historic Site, several old pioneer cemeteries including the grave site/memorial of Jonnny Ringo and alao the infamous town of Tombstone! We did as much as we could get done from here but, as is often the case, still left with more to see and do.
