Non desideravo più spasmodicamente delle nozze da sogno ma sono arrivate… magari non perfette ma genuine, concrete… sentite. C’era nostro figlio…. le nostre mani unite e la nostra strada verso un nuovo inizio. C’erano le mie 3 migliori amiche che credevo non sarei MAI riuscita a riunire insieme (vivono in zone completamente diverse 😅)… c’era tutto ciò che conta per me. Tanta sostanza… tanto amore. Quello vero… quello che non mi piace promettere ma preservare. Quello che non è vincolato ma libero… di essere ciò che deve essere purché sia vero. 29 years ago tonight we had a super quaint rehearsal dinner in Lake Tahoe. Dinner for 2 with a view of the lake? Yes please!!! Lake Tahoe was our dream destination and believe me, we had to pinch pennies big time to get there! We used points for the hotel and airline miles for the flight that we both had been saving up! My flowers were a simple, small bouquet. Here Comes the Bride was played on a 90’s boom box. It was perfect!! We were supposed to exchange our vows outdoors on the lake, but Mother Nature had other plans as we woke up to snow on our wedding morning. Plan B brought us indoors to small venue above a 7-11 in a strip mall. But to be honest, It didn’t matter where we got married, how many flowers I carried or if my walk down the aisle was to music playing from a cheesy boom box. We had dreams. Dreams of building a loving partnership that would last a lifetime! OUR song was INXS “Never Tear Us Apart”...and it’s still one of our favorites!
