Our Drag Factor Host and Judge! @chloerozex 🥀🎤 👑 If you want to see who will take the crown join us on the 30th of April at 8pm for Scotlands only live vocal drag pageant “The Drag Factor” @leitharches Edinburgh! Chloe Roze started gigging professionally at the age of 13, performing at venues, festivals and events all over the country. At 14 she headlined the International Air Show for an audience of thousands, kickstarting her musical career. This led to appearing on radio stations across Scotland to promote her first original song. Chloe continued to peruse her career in Ayrshire, performing at Christmas events, Tamfest, Miss Scotland pageant, private events, and a mini tour across Scotland with “on the road”. Chloe Roze moved in 2019 to Edinburgh to pursue theatre at University. Since then Chloe Roze has worked with award winning producers and songwriters, releasing her first original EP Free Falling in 2021, followed by the single Hypocrite and the collaboration Fools with Akela, featured on multiple music publications and radio stations including BBC Introducing. She took on the Edinburgh scene by producing her first headliner show at Sneaky Petes in March 2021, and performing at various live music venues. Chloe began exploring drag during this time, often performing at gigs in drag aesthetics, wigs and glamorous costumes, which led her to eventually becoming a drag artist. She produced her first weekly drag show 5 months into her drag career “the Roze Garden” followed by other self produced shows. Evie Waddell (@eviejowaddell), native of Stirlingshire, is a renowned Gaelic and Scots singer and fiddler, and is joining us in EXACTLY TWO WEEKS at #EdinTradfest24. Her musical journey began at a young age, before honing her skills at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Continuing her ascent in the music scene, Evie Waddell emerged as a finalist in the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2024, solidifying her place among the brightest talents in the industry. Tonight Peter Case rocked the collective socks off the audience at The Old Cinema Laundrette in Durham. I washed and dried everyone’s shirts,..no, I opened the show and played a couple of tunes with Peter at the end. Peter plays piano, six string guitar in C tuning, harmonica, and a gloriously fat sounding 12-string. I play clawhammer banjo, mandolin, regular acoustic guitar, harmonica…so this show has something for everybody. Why the audio left this clip is beyond me but sing Beyond The Blues loudly as you watch it and it will all make sense. Next month I am trying a new format out with my local blues dance classes in Edinburgh! Instead of the usual drop-in sessions I am going to be running two, 5 week progressive courses on Ballroomin' and Jukin' :D These classes will run at @thesalisburycentre on Tuesdays from May 21st - June 25th (no classes on June 4th due to venue availability) with Ballroomin' from 7pm-8pm, Jukin' from 8pm-9pm and free social dancing from 9pm-10pm.
