Chips, cookies, candy & delicious ice cream! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These were my snacks of choice last night. I planned on digging into each one of these but I didn’t. I only deciding to eat the I cream but that’s not the point. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I use to avoid these foods when I would go on a diet or if I was just trying to be healthier. Avoiding these foods only made me crave them more and created anxiety & guilt for indulging in them when I finally caved. . . Fast forward to now and I don’t crave these foods as much as I use to or feel guilty for having them apart of my diet. . . Yikes!! This picture makes me cringe!😬 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Looking back before I committed to being healthier I would always say ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I need to get into better shape” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I need to eat better” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I need to control my portions” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I said all these thing but I never followed through. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I came to realize that I was UNWILLING to give up late nights of partying ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ UNWILLING to give up fast food or delicious snacks because it was convenient, easy and satisfying ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BUT ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was WILLING to feel like crap all the time ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was WILLING to have little to no energy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was WILLING to give my all to things that didn’t serve me just because because other people were doing and it was fun in the moment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You see if you are UNWILLING to set aside things you know that don’t serve you for the better then you are WILLING to stay where you are at and never become better for yourself, your family or whoever/whatever your driving factor might be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Know what you are WILLING or NOT WILLING to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The choice is yours.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ps. It’s that time of year Friendsgiving,Thanksgiving, ugly sweater party’s, family Christmas parties, Christmas Eve,Christmas,candy,cookies,pies etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is no escape from all of these glorious foods this time of year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I wouldn’t say thats entirely true...these kinds of foods are around all year long if you think about it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We tend to use the holiday season as our EXCUSE. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🙄Excuse to gain the “holiday weight” 🙄Excuse to overeat 🙄Excuse to binge eat 🙄Excuse to eat like an A$$hole ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🙋🏼‍♀️Believe me I’ve been guilty of doing this many times! In fact this past weekend I ate like a complete asshole but I didn’t feel guilty or regret. I simply got back to normal business on Monday and I didn’t derail the progress I’ve been making. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My point is we can still enjoy our social gatherings stress free and still work toward our goals. Why should we set food boundaries? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I often see that when working with a client that there is always a trigger food for someone. Some of these trigger foods cause us to over eat or binge until we get sick. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This then turns into instant regret and feeling guilty for what we just ate. We tend to “forget” or ignore our bodies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If we set food boundaries, for example, keeping these trigger foods out of the house making them hard to get, or eating slower and paying attention to when we are full can help us create a better relationship with food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Set some boundaries for yourself. The chick on the left was insecure, tired, sluggish, frustrated and was in the gym constantly. She worked hard and felt strong but the weight wouldn't bugde. She had enough and knew something needed to change. She was determined to feel better, look better and become better wtih every opportunity that she faced! She didn’t know how or where she was going to start but she set her mind to it and got to work! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The chick on the right spent a lot of time trying to learn about nutrition. This is Celeste, ⠀ She Joined the challenge 30 Days To Freedom on September 1st. Here is what she has had to say about her experience. ⠀ “Since starting the challenge I have learned to have a better relationship with food. I use to feel guilty and regret my choices when I would eat the foods that society labels “bad”. Bryce taught me that there is no “good” or “bad” foods but to shift my mindset to what foods make me feel good and what foods don’t. ⠀ I wasn’t eating enough to fuel my body. For example: Before the challenge I had a lot of brain fog and was very forgetful, now I feel more clear minded and have less forgetful moments. ⠀ I wasn’t perfect throughout the challenge. I learned that being consistent is better than being perfect, which has help me not be so critical of myself. ⠀ Bryce is great to work with, she never made me feel like I was failing. WIN THE WEEKEND! ⠀ Thank goodness it's the weekend! ⠀ After a long week I am glad that it is finally time to relax! ⠀ but do you really think I'm going to relax? ⠀ Probably not haha ⠀ I'm a busy body and I love to make sure I have something to do. Especially on the weekends ⠀ I'm not sure about you but when it comes to the weekend my food intake durning the day is almost non existent. ⠀ You could say I FORGET TO EAT! ⠀ HOW DO YOU FORGET!? You say ⠀ Well it's simple, I get busy or am having fun and my mind is far from food. Plus it is 1,000 degrees out so my appetite goes way down! ⠀ I don't realize I'm hungry until later at night when I slow down for the day. ⠀ At that point where I am starving and will eat anything that is conviently there in from of me. ⠀ I don't take the time to enjoy my food at this point as I'm am just trying to fullfiill my needs (me being hangrey) ⠀ "This can lead to overeating ⠀ Poor choices in food quality ⠀ High carb & fat intake et. ⠀ DON'T BE LIKE ME! ⠀ Make sure to keep yourself on track with these few tips below ⠀ 1. Wake up eat a good balanced breakfast! ⠀ shoudl include a Protein, Fat & Carb- less processed foods the better! ⠀ 2. If you are on the go especially on the weekends as a parent, since kids are playing sports, make sure to pack a lunch or grab a few snacks before you head out the door. ⠀ 💵you'll save money not going to the concessions or the gas station and you'll stay fuller for longer ⠀ 3. Drink a glass of water before every meal. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS! ⠀ Accountability ⠀ Structure ⠀ Support ⠀ These are all the things I was missing when I started my journey ⠀ Sure I had a few friends that were my support that were doing the same thing as me but our jorneys were very different ⠀ I honestly just tried to wing it ⠀ I had no clue what I was doing ⠀ but I sure as hell was determined to figure it out ⠀ I became obsessed, constantly reading on the internet ⠀ Obsessed over my macro numbers, I wanted them to be perfect! ⠀ I was obsessed over the gym, if I didn't make it, I was very grumpy ⠀ Looking back I wasn't free, I was trapped ⠀ My life revovled around the gym and what my next meal was going to be ⠀ It was very hard for me to go out to eat because I had already planned my day to be perfect and that meant my "PERFECT" day was ruined. ⠀ Or I would spend a lot of time stressing...trying to rearrange my day so I could enjoy going out to eat with friends or family ⠀ "I was trying to be "PERFECT" in a CONSISTENT world" ⠀ Thats NOT how it should be! ⠀ You shouldn't feel ⠀ ❌Trapped ⠀ ❌Restricted ⠀ ❌Guilty ⠀ ❌Ashamed ⠀ You should be able to enjoy what you are doing ⠀ Your "diet"and training should revolve around YOUR LIFESTYLE... WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE ⠀ The other morning I made an excuse to not go to the gym ⠀ I debated with myself ⠀ “I was tired and needed extra sleep” ⠀ You need to go to the gym, you’ll be awake once you get moving ⠀ “Well I can just go later” ⠀ Ok but you have to go later... ⠀ I flat out didn’t want to go but I made the excuse instead of the choice (there's a difference) ⠀ So did I make it to the gym later that day? ⠀ YEP! I HAD A 6 PACK, BUT FELT LIKE SHIT ⠀ Who doesn’t love a good challenge that is short term with instant results!? ⠀ Me... and here’s why: ⠀ I did a 30 day challenge ⠀ I was feelin myself at this point! 💁🏼‍♀️ ⠀ My clothes fit nicely ⠀ People gave me compliments. ⠀ Sounds great right!? ⠀ NOPE I FELT like shit through it all ⠀ X I ate very low calories X I was tired X No energy X Workouts suffered X I was practically starving. X I was irritated or ornery X I did two cleanses during the 30 days that consisted of 2 full days of only drinking water and eating 2-3 apples ⠀ For an entire day!! ⠀ Man was that stupid! ⠀ I was so relieved when it was over. ⠀ Nobody wants to feel like shit everyday. ⠀ Nobody should feel like shit everyday. ⠀ If you can relate Comment or Dm me! I went from eating 1000, calories per day & not losing weight to eating 2200 calories per day & losing fat. ⠀ Geez… Where do I start ⠀ I was stressed ⠀ Training less because I was in a “funk” ⠀ Skipping meals (not even on purpose) to finish a task or do other things that I claimed as THE PRIORITY…(insert eyeroll) ⠀ Everything else in my life was more of a priority. ⠀ Then something happened... ⠀ I realized that I needed to put MYSELF first... ⠀ And not just in some woo woo, hippy, self-help kinda way ⠀ I'm talking SERIOUSLY taking my own health back, and deciding that I MATTER ⠀ This is when I hired a coach @brandywann. ⠀ She helped me realize I was undereating and needed to reverse diet (add calories, eat more). ⠀ Wait, what?! I had to eat MORE if I wanted to lose? ⠀ To say I was scared would be an understatement....but what did I have to lose? ⠀ So we got started...eating more than I ever had, and ADDING CALORIES week after week... ⠀ (yes, it was a scary process) ⠀ But every week something cool happened... ⠀ When I took my pictures to send to Brandy, I looked better and better ⠀ The scale was NOT going up with all the extra food, and my bodyfat was going DOWN ⠀ HOW WAS THIS HAPPENING?!?! ⠀ Simple - food is actually the FUEL to fat loss...you just have to know how to use it ⠀ Since that time, I've committed myself to helping as many people as possible FUEL their fat loss journey ⠀ And right now I'm looking for THREE people that are ready to finally create the change they have been looking for ⠀ Comment/ DM FUEL below and I'll get you started ⠀ Talk soon
