The Palace School hosted the FilmIt festival organised by Indian National Trust for Art and Culture Heritage (INTACH) on 6th February 2024. FilmIt is a multicultural project that help students make short films on their city’s heritage. This year marks the 16th year of the FilmIt Festival. Fifteen schools across Jaipur participated in the event. Dr Rima Hooja, an archaeologist, historian and writer was the Chief Guest for the event. Ms Rama Datt ma’am, Executive Trustee of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust and an honourable member of our Board of Governors graced the occasion with her presence. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Madam Principal and the esteemed guests. A variety of thought-provoking films made by different schools of Jaipur were screened which captivated the audience. Awards were given to recognize outstanding talent and creativity showcased by the young film makers. Ms. Urvashi Warman, Principal, The Palace School highlighted the significance of storytelling through films as a powerful tool to convey messages, preserve traditions, and ignite curiosity about diverse cultures. She commended the efforts of the students who participated in the festival, applauding their creativity, dedication and passion for showing cultural diversity through their films. The chief guest Dr. Rima Hooja enlightened us with her thoughts and emphasised how cinema as the other form of learning has the power to inspire change. According to her, field visits play a crucial role in nurturing creativity amongst students. We are glad to share that The Palace School has clinched two awards at this prestigious festival- Best Script for Fragrance Of India (Attar ki Mehak).
