📽 ESTRENOS 2024 📽 En “Civil War”, una guerra civil ha dividido a los Estados Unidos en un conflicto bélico en un futuro indeterminado pero próximo. En este contexto, un grupo de fotoreporteros de guerra cruzaran el continente hasta Washington D.C. para entrevistar al Presidente… Quien acaba de empezar su tercer mandato en el poder. Garland es un habitual en la ciencia ficción contemporánea. Tras las muy recomendables “Ex Machina” (2014) y “Annihilation” (2018), ahora se embarca en ésta distopía política. En esta ocasión el director se decanta por el lado más pirotécnico de su propuesta, al centrar la narración en los distintos conflictos que los personajes se van encontrando en su camino. Garland demuestra buen nervio y ojo en unas escenas de acción contundentes y sorprendentemente bien filmadas. El planteamiento es interesante y el metraje avanza con buen pulso narrativo, en lo que no deja de ser un blockbuster hecho con cabeza. Sin ser un mal título, deja un pozo de insatisfacción al ver lo poco desarrollado de su atractiva propuesta. Especialmente vista al lado de las películas de Garland antes mencionadas. Por algún motivo, decide centrar la narración en las convenciones de las road movie, ahora en un marco bélico, y en la historia del joven personaje interpretado por Cailee Spaeny, en su cruzada para curtirse como reportera de guerra como relevo generacional del personaje de Kirsten Dunst. Una suerte de coming of age más habitual de la productora de la película, A24, que del propio Garland. Tras finalizar esta película Garland ha anunciado su retiro (¿temporal?) de la dirección para centrarse en las tareas de guionista. ¿Habrá sido por una posible mala experiencia con esta película? Hablemos de: Love Lies Bleeding ( #RoseGlass;2024)🩸Qué puedo decir, a A24 le gusta el gore y esto tiene bastante. La nueva apuesta de la productora estadounidense, de la mano de la directora de la aclamada Saint Maud (2019), Rose Glass, nos trae este thriller, romance, neo noir (sí, todo eso), protagonizado por Katy O’Brian quien interpreta a Jackie, una físico culturista que llega a Nuevo México con el fin de preparar una competencia en Las Vegas, pero conoce a Lou (Kristen Stewart) y se enamoran, este intenso romance desatará crimen, mafia, sangre, esteroides y violencia, sip, todo lo que el título promete. Vi algunas referencias al cine de Lynch, los hermanos Coen e incluso al horror corporal del Cronenberg de los 80s; el film cumple con su cometido de entretener con un ritmo bien logrado y con unos efectos sonoros tan buenos que casi puedes sentir la transpiración, los golpes o la contracción de los músculos a través de la pantalla, dándonos una experiencia sensorial. Hay cosas que no terminaron de encajar para mí, como el desarrollo de este romance hacia el final o mentiras que nunca salieron a la luz, pero dentro de todo es una película chispeante, con escenas dignas de quedarse en nuestra retina y muy buenas actuaciones. Em “Guerra Civil” temos a seção dos EUA, em lados, com a presença de um ‘governo’ onde o presidente rasgou a Constituição e está no comando a 3 mandatos. Cansados disto, o povo decide ir à luta armada e tirar ele à força. Então 4 profissionais da comunicação decidem ir a Washington para conseguir este furo de reportagem. O filme tem o Alex Garland na direção e no roteiro, ele que também fez Men: Faces do Medo, Aniquilação, Ex Machina: Instinto Artificial, entre outros. Temos vários impactos positivos, como, o trabalho de som, onde ele faz a mistura da trilha sonora com sons de ambiente, onde os momentos de tensão ficam ainda mais fortes por causa disto. O roteiro é bem trabalhado, com a proposta da polarização ideológica, que chegou a um nível extremo, com os lados armados e fazendo tudo do seu jeito. Para isto ele insere coisas inimagináveis e referências, como uma aliança entre o Texas e a Califórnia, um presidente real e o caos. Ele também apresenta uma ode ao fotojornalismo, que pode englobar tudo, pois temos personagens que representam cada fase do trabalho, com a Jessie, Lee, Joel e Sammy. Além disso, ele também busca passar mais crédito a eles, pois nos últimos tempos os jornalistas caíram em descrédito, por causa da fake news. O fotojornalismo também é representado, mostrando o quanto é difícil e perigoso, pois mostra o quanto a pessoa muda e o tanto que tem que aguentar. O fraco fica por conta da ‘neutralidade’ política que o filme busca, mas é muito difícil, pois a representação querendo ou não tem um julgamento de valor, além de mostrar que a profissão tem que buscar a melhor foto para retratar o momento e para isto eles precisam usar de qualquer artifício para conseguir. A mensagem que fica é duas, sendo a primeira que a polarização política só traz malefícios, e que isto num futuro próximo pode acabar acontecendo. A segunda é sobre o final aberto, onde você completa o filme com base no que você viu nas telas e no que você acredita. A24 Horror rarely misses so I’m down.
Saben usualmente yo soy un gran fan de las series o películas que buscan tener su propia identidad y diferenciarse de otros productos a partir de la experimentación, pero cuando simplemente quieren ser diferentes solo por ser diferentes el resultado no es bueno y es el caso de esta serie. Apesar de que contamos con una historia que busca ser interesante y diferente no logra funcionar ya que prefiere enfocarse en lo incómodo más que desarrollar su argumento, los personajes apesar de ser interpretados por tres muy buenos actores ninguno termina de funcionar realmente y los descenlaces de los tres son meh, el uso del realismo magico o la incomodidad se siente en muchas ocasiones fuera de lugar o innecesario, el final apesar de seguir con ese tono raro no funciona y al final pareciera que buscan ser profundos solo por ser profundos. Civil War è un film provocatorio, crudo e fortemente disturbante, l’ultimo lungometraggio prodotto da A24 parla della guerra, ma lontano da schieramenti politici, da cause ed effetti, da “buoni” e “cattivi”. Mostra l'orrore della guerra senza spiegazioni, senza giustificazioni, pura crudeltà, la morte della democrazia e la demonizzazione dell'avversario politico, l'assunzione di entrambe le parti di una posizione di presunta superiorità etica che squalifica la parte avversa e impedisce ogni confronto, allargando sempre più le divisioni. Una riflessione inoltre sul ruolo del giornalismo, a cui spetta il compito di documentare i fatti senza schierarsi, in modo imparziale, ma che qui viene portato all'eccesso, in una totale mancanza di empatia con le persone coinvolte nelle crudeltà da loro documentate. Qual è il confine, la linea sottile, che separa il diritto all'informazione con la brama della notizia (o la foto) perfetta? Dov'è che finisce la ricerca della verità e inizia l'etica del giornalismo? Un film di forte impatto che mostra un mondo distorto, ma in cui è fin troppo facile riconoscere il presente.
