Up early this Sunday morning. 4/28/24. Upper body day! 💪💜💪 This morning, I wore my 2018 Usa Open Nationals Championship Officals Jacket. Lots of memories tied into this jacket. 💜❤️💜 On a daily basis, I don't go out of my way to judge people. Quite frankly, I have better things to do with my time. 💜 However, when I do volunteer my time as a referree, I am required to judge people and also ensure that the federation rules and regulations are being followed by those who have registered to compete in these events. From equipment checks, weigh-ins, and being a side judge or head judge, plus so much more. ☺️ I will say this. I find it interesting that people who have registered for these events do NOT take the time to review the federations they choose to compete in, rules, and regulations. They are all online and available for everyone to read. And lastly, it IS the RESPONSIBILITY of the lifters to KNOW these Rules and Regulations. Unfortunately, many don't. 23lbs down and feeling great! 2 months into a 6 month prep & my body has adapted to this lifestyle change. I’ve had days where I’ve really struggled, but overall my mental has been great and I’ve adapted well. I’m in the stage of prep where my offseason clothes just don’t fit me anymore, my husband has already made comments when we cuddle how I’m getting tiny again (Tiny Tim is entering the chat IYKYK 😂) & I’m doing the constant dance of losing my waist but not my glutes..it’s so hard! (That’s why you have to make sure the booty has muscle too..not just fat 😂😂🙌🏾) Long road ahead & I truly like to take my time…but I’m so excited for show day. I have been going in head first into matches with the goal of pushing my limits of comfort on vision and hustle. The effort is paying off. 1st Upper left photo was from the morning of the 23rd of April. I had no coffee that morning before I took my blood pressure. Lower left to right photo were from this morning 27th of April. After 2 large cups of ☕️ coffee. The one on the lower left, I was not thinking about anything. The lower right photo I started thinking about what I am going to train tomorrow. 😆 not only did my blood pressure rise slightly between those 2 moments, but as you can see. So did my pulse rate!! I tell all of my clients. You are your own unique case study. It's imperative that you keep a journal, especially if your goals are truly important to you. Why? Here's why: 1. How will you ever know what worked for you if you do not have something to compare it to? 2. How much cardio do you as an individual with your own unique metabolism know is ideal for you? How much do you need to adjust for your goals? Time, intensity, and frequency. 3. Just as with cardiovascular training. How often do you need to incorporate resistance training. And what does that look like for you as it relates to your goals at any given time? 4. Are you actually truthfully holding yourself accountable when you are logging your food intake? Are you especially in the beginning stages measuring and weighing your food and beverages? Remember, if your meal plan calls for 8 Ritz crackers and you keep eating an additional 2/4 more every day, it will add to your waistline over the course of the year. If you don't burn it, you wear it. It's that simple. 100 extra calories a day for 365 days. Will equal over 1 lb of weight gain a year. All calories count. 5. Weigh yourself on the same day at the same time every week. Be consistent. The scale doesn't lie. Nor does the measuring tape and your clothes. I can't tell you how many times over my 40 years as a trainer and coach that I've heard people tell me they "think" they eat healthy and exercise enough and I can't understand why I'm not getting results. 😕 Well, 99.9% of the time. They can not produce any documentation of how many calories they've consumed and / or burned. It does matter. 💯 So start journaling today and be honest and consistent. 💪💜💪

Post 5/5 - Medical Kits in Vehicles - I keep a supplemental kit on my head rest. Two is one, one is none type of thing. Finally, I will sometimes carry a larger bag for specific trips or environments. I go camping/overlanding frequently where there isn’t cell service and/or any medical facilities close. For the most part it is the same as the smaller kits, just a lot more supplies. I also carry some additional items in it such as, but not limited to, Sam splints, CPR masks, larger ETDs, and so on.
