Our next and last event of the year is 'Our Festive Get-Together' which takes us off the beaten track to an unexpected place nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Port Navas nr Falmouth. @portnavasyachtclub Bar & Restaurant is home to Melissa Morrow (from South Africa) and Chef Sarah Conway (from London) who have taken over the restaurant in April this year offering a Global Bistro style. Chef Sarah takes inspiration from countries from around the world and their menus change weekly. They have some 35+ years experience in hospitality between them. They worked together in New Zealand for 12 years before returning home to the UK and settling in Falmouth. My daughter loves @officialblueytv and I have to say we have enjoyed a few episodes too, it is laugh out loud funny. This episode however "it's on the app" keeps playing on my mind though. It shows how the app world has taken away the social interaction that a lot of people need and how lonely it must be. It made me think back to why I started Potluck Cornwall back in 2014 to try and end loneliness.You can have all the "friends" in the world and still feel lonely, I know this resonates with me some of the time, I'm somebody that loves being in the company of others and I'm currently finding it hard as my 4 year old daughter shys away from anyone she doesn't know and hates me talking to friends or people I know in her company and does anything to draw my attention away from the conversations. I love that you can come out by yourself and not feel isolated. Potluck Cornwall has always brought people together - face to face, to try different food and drink experiences and make new friends, you will never sit by yourself and you will always have someone to talk to. A potluck is usually a gathering of people, where each person or group of people contribute a dish of food to be shared among the group. This was our dinner tonight from @saffronhuns An all women street food vendor doing Thali Pop Ups outside the @gweekvillagestores on a Friday Night. The food was extremely satisfying, good portion sizes and it got a huge thumbs up from my husband, my friend @thefisher5_ and also our toddlers. I didn't think my daughter would eat it but she loved the Dal, rice and cucumbers for £3.50. Hub Box. They’ve started their brekkies again and boy was it delish! I had the full veggie. I honestly just cannot resist halloumi and avo. Ben had the works muffin and Reef had a kids sausage breakfast roll. We basically all ended up sharing, including Tyde. Who went wild for halloumi. That’s my boy! It was all so yummy and the staff were awesome. I am often nervous taking the boys anywhere nice as I know they are mini tornados. However, everyone was really friendly and chill as Tyde crawled around and licked chair legs and Reef used the seating as his own personal soft play. Oh and did I mention the views!? CORNISH ICE CREAM 🍦 Had to try out @moomaidofzennor ice cream after hearing such great things! I went for a scoop of the vanilla bean and clotted cream as well as their famous shipwreck ice cream - sea salt, dulce de leche caramel and honeycomb 😍 It really was delicious and very creamy ✨ if you’re in Zennor I definitely recommend stopping by as the cafe is just the cutest!

Lunch @the_pig_hotels at Harlyn Bay. The menu here is crafted from ingredients sourced either from the beautiful kitchen gardens, or within 25 miles of the restaurant, supporting local businesses and with a strong outlook on sustainability and seasonality. Needless to say the quality of the produce came through each dish, singing with the flavours. We were recommended a South African Chardonnay to carry us through our (4 course 🐷) meal, and were excellently attended to by staff. Aside from the obviously beautiful backdrop of the Harlyn Bay hotel, I love everything that The Pig stands for: delicious food, sourced locally and seasonally and created with innovative ideas that excite and entice as a diner. Best Pork Ramen I've had since @naokoskitchensg. Loved all the elements the crunchy cauliflower, the pickled cucumbers and that pork so flavoursome and soft, absolutely worth the wait. I was lucky enough to come to Falmouth for the evening with work so for one night only foodiesofbath does foodiesofcornwall! I went to @amanzi_falmouth and it was so so good. Just the perfect place to please foodies. The freshness of Cornish seafood and an amazing African menu. I’ve never been anywhere like it and enjoyed it so much. There were a fair few of us too and a special mention must go to Alex (I hope that’s spelt right) who was perfect.
