About this weekend Our first @the_righteous_mum Womens SUP Surf Camps of the year! We had ALL the weathers and ALL the positive vibes. Day 1 surf in the rain, a sauna @olla.hiki.sauna.cornwall swapping stories and inspiration chucking cold water at each other and hanging out in the rain, a family dinner at the harbour and we were into day 2. A calming stretch whilst soaking in some vitamin D with @elaine_dancingyogi at the beautiful back drop that is @lustyglazebeach we then refuelled and chatted forecasts @blend.lusty before hitting the waves again. Cheering each otherโs wins and watching everyone skills and confidence increase. We still have some space for our next camp in one months time. If the eyes could talk they would tell the story themselves I thinkโฆ. ๐ฃIf you donโt know me that well, I was diagnosed with PPD a year after my first daughter was born. This was 18 month after that - I was driving towards a place I knew I could walk myself off a cliff. Iโd planned where to leave my youngest so she would be safe and found quickly. Luckily, it was her laughing in the back of the car that managed to bring me back to some kind of reality, get me to park the car, and phone my GP (who was the absolute business btw). Fast forward now over 3 years - wow, thatโs a long journey! ๐ขI think when you say, PPD or PPA, as soon as baby is over 1 year old, itโs not considered anymore. The trouble is, I didnโt get diagnosed for a year in the first place! Iโve been fighting a battle ever since. as we all know by now, a trip to my storage never fails to disappoint โข thus, fresh into the little shop this week, altho by no means spring chickens, are these fabulous 1950s/60s textiles โข not just one but two colourways of Howard Carter's Pansies โข there are acres of the red and a few choice pieces of the purple โข close up, scraps and remnants of this 1962 design are perfect for textile art thanks to the deep strong colours and the dye saturation of the excellent quality Heals barkcloth โข acres of the red (you know I'm slightly exaggerating when I write "acres", don't you) make great curtains / cushions / lampshades / clothing โข or a vast piece of textile art, if you're so inclined โข also Howard Carter, in more muted colours, the award winning Sunflower โข in two colourways, again, a delightfully illustrated kitchen design โข I can see it binding the cover of a recipe book or folder, perhaps framed in smaller sections, elements used in appliquรฉ, cushions for a kitchen chair โข available in two colourways as well is Aquarius, a Jacqueline Groag 1960s design for Jonelle (John Lewis' in-house design brand) โข my preference is for the teal / turquoise / lime version, you may prefer the gold / yellow / orange โข there is a good sized piece of the beautifully illustrated nursery rhyme The House that Jack Built โข on the subject of beautiful illustrations, a lightweight piece of fabric featuring 1950s posters of Picasso Vallauris exhibitions โข and last but not least, today at any rate, and going back to those spring chickens, Dresser, a marvellous collaboration between Emma Bridgewater and her mother-in-law Pat Albeck, for Sanderson โข is that sufficient amazing fabric for one day?
