Topps had two cards entitled "Friendly Foes." One in 1963 and another in 1964. The 1963 card #68 has one time teammates Duke Snider & Gil Hodges who played together with the Dodgers from 1947-1961. The 1964 card #41 has Willie McCovey and Leon Wagner who were teammates with the San Francisco Giants in 1959. ( I know there is a 2013 card with the same title made to resemble the 1964 card with Derek Jeter and Mike Trout . ****SOLD**** 1956 Jackie Robinson "World Series Win" TYPE 1 ORIGINAL Photo by Barney Stein For sale is an awesome Type 1 Original Photo of Jackie Robinson. In this amazing image you see him and teammate Gil Hodges holding up Pitcher Sal Maglie who had just struck out 10 and won his first Series game. This was taken after game 1 of the World Series against the local rival New York Yankees while playing at Ebbet's Field. The Brooklyn Dodgers would go on to win the World Series in 7 games and little did Jackie know he would be playing in his final season in the MLB. He was traded shortly after to the other arch-rival New York Giants which upset Jackie and would push him to throw in the towel and retire. This would end up becoming one of a handful of Jackie's last portraits with "Dem Bums". This photo was taken by famed Dodger's team photographer Barney Stein. Stein handled the team's photographs during their peak years in the 1940's and 50's. This photo was taken October 3rd 1956 and is Credited to "Barney Stein." It measures 8 x 10 inches and is in MINT Condition. This is an incredible photo and has major eye appeal due to the clarity. We got something for everyone in this post. First a 1966 Topps Jim Palmer RC HGA 8.5 we estimate should go for around $375. Recently one sold in Dec. for $321 then it looks like got flipped in Feb. in a bidding war for $404. A PSA 8.5 we estimate would go for around $975 while an ungraded raw VG condition should run you about $250. Next check out a 1969 Topps Reggie Jackson RC CSG 5.5 that we estimate should go for about $220. A PSA 5 Reggie would run you about $315 while a raw GOOD condition should fetch about the same $225. Next up a few of my favorite cards including a second year 1976 Topps George Brett which should go for about $45 in raw GOOD condition, followed by a third year 1965 Topps Pete Rose that is looking like it will cost you about $245 in raw EX condition. Not to be outdone a rare 1986 Topps Traded Tiffany Bo Jackson PSA 9 which should go for nearly a grand, coming in at $950 and a super cool vintage 1957 Topps Dodgers Sluggers that you should be able to pick up in raw GOOD condition for just around $30. In this posed portrait you see all of the fan favorites starting with Duke Snider, Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese and Gil Hodges. They were posing during Spring Training in Vero Beach preparing for success. This was such a special group and will go down in history. These guys would be the reason why the Brooklyn Dodgers would win their first World Series as an organization. They had finally beat their crosstown rivals, the Yankees in the best of 7. Campy and Snider were the two runners for MVP which was given to Campy, making it his 3rd in 5 years. Snider would still lead the league in rbi's. Some say this team goes down in history as one of the greatest teams to play on the diamond. This photo was taken by Dodger's Club photographer Herb Scharfman. He was credited for capturing some of the greatest dodgers photos along with photographer Barney Stein. This photo has been Authenticated and Encapsulated by PSA DNA as a TYPE 1 Original Photo. This photo was taken March 21st 1955 and is Credited to "Herb Scharfman/International News Photos. The size is 7 x 9 inches and is in Good Condition. There is some minor staining on the bottom border along with what looks to be paper stuck to the bottom of the photo. There are also minor wrinkles through the photo as well.
