Peace in the Valley Keesey Canyon from the top of Skyline Drive in Davis Mountains State Park. That’s Highway 118 you see running along the valley floor – it will take you northwest toward McDonald Observatory, the telescope domes of which are just visible atop the ridges to the right of the photo. By the way, I attended my first Star Party at the Observatory last night. There were some clouds and a first-quarter moon, but it was still an absolutely fantastic experience – I can’t recommend it enough.
