Oh look a Maserati 300S, wait a minute. Registered as a "1962 Maserati 300S", the chassis plate of this replica reads 1840, engine no E302. Real 300S chassis numbers range from 3051 to 3083, but there was a 1962 Maserati 3500GT (chassis no 101-1840) which probably provided the basis for this one.  Still beautiful though. Your thoughts on it please feel free to let me know. The original car's information: 101-1840 3500 GT Touring Year: 10 january 1962 Dealer: Thepenier, France Paint new: Bianco Interior new: Blue The 1955 Maserati 300S produced between 1955 and 1958 to compete in the FIA World Sportscar Championship.  Only 26 examples were made. In the annals of automotive history, there exists a legend that ignites the soul of every true aficionado—the Maserati 300 S. Beautiful yes, competitive in its first year.? Yes only in the fact that if you count trying to finish a race that it was entered in. The 3.0-litre (approx 245 bhp (183 kW) at 6200 rpm)engine was based on the Straight-6 design of the Maserati 250F and incorporated a lengthened stroke developed by Vittorio Bellentani to increase the capacity from the original 2.5-litres. @silverstonecircuit @thevscc #maserati300s #Maserati #automotivephotogeraphy #automotive #rmpiix #voitureclassique #voiture #motorsportphotography #motorsport #thevscc #historicracingcars #Silverstone #canon #madeinitaly #petrolicious #gentlemandriver #drivetastefully #drivevintage #hrdc #classiccarsdaily #voituresilverstone #classicmaserati #motorsport1924 #carphotograhy #iconiccars

The beautiful Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 on track at Silverstone for the VSCC was introduced in 1929 in Rome. The car had a top speed of 95 mph (153 km/h), a chassis designed to flex and undulate over uneven surfaces, as well as sensitive geared-up steering. It was produced in six series between 1929 and 1933. The base model had a single overhead cam. Super Sport and Gran Sport versions had a double overhead cam engine (DOHC). Again, a supercharger was available. Most of the cars were sold as rolling chassis and bodied by coachbuilders such as Zagato, and Touring Superleggera. In 1929, the 6C won every major racing event in which it was entered, including the Grands Prix of Belgium, Spain, Tunis and Monza, and the Mille Miglia was won by Giuseppe Campari and Giulio Ramponi. The car also won the Brooklands Double Twelve and the Ulster TT. In 1930 the car again won the Mille Miglia and Spa 24 Hours. Total production was 2,635. Enzo Ferrari, was the sole dealer for the Alfa Romeo marque in the Emilia-Romagna and Marche regions of Italy. The first race in which the Scuderia Ferrari competed was the 1930 Mille Miglia, the fourth running of the event, with a team of three Alfa Romeos. Scarfiotti, a Deputy in the Italian parliament, wanted a car that was distinctive, elegant and sporty, and could be used not only for racing but also driven in local political parades. His choice fell on the new supercharged twin-cam GS (Gran Sport) version of the 1750cc version of the Fourth Series of the 6C Alfa Romeo designed by the Vittorio Jano. It was the latest iteration of Jano's 6C series first seen in prototype (and much tamer) single-cam form at the 1925 Salone di Milano. @silverstonecircuit @thevscc #alfa #alfaromeo6c #alfaromeo #automotive #thevscc #motorsportphotography #rmpiix #drivetastefully #petrolicious #classicalfa #automotivephotogeraphy #EnzoFerrari #drivevintage #canon #historicracingcars #madeinitaly #vittoriojano #carphotograhy #motorsports #alfaholics #vintagealfa #italianstyle #royalautomobileclub #historicmotorsport #hrdc #silverstonecircuit #cardesigndaily #classiccarsdaily #iconiccars

1913 Theophile Schneider Aero Special Th. Schneider was a French automobile manufacturer. The Société anonyme des automobiles Th. Schneider was registered at Besançon on 16 June 1910.Vehicle production finally ended early in 1930, some ten months after the company's second declaration of bankruptcy, in March 1929. A significant proportion of the manufacturer's output was exported to England. By the time he established the company that carried his name, Schneider was already a very well seasoned automobile manufacturer. With Edouard Rochet, Schnieder had been involved since 1889 or 1894 with the Lyon based Rochet-Schneider company. Although Schneider had apparently been registered at birth with the name "Théodore Schneider", many friends and business partners knew him as "Théophile Schneider". Use of the name Th. Schneider for his automobile company avoided the need to arbitrate between the two names. This machine was built during the 1990s by VSCC member David Baker, using a 1913 Théophile Schneider as its basis. Chassis number 16 features a wheelbase of 8ft 10in, and Baker's initial plan was to retain the Théophile Schneider engine. Powered by 10 litre aero engine. The Hall-Scott A-7 was an early liquid-cooled aircraft engine. Using a straight-4 configuration, the engine developed 90 horsepower (67 kW) as the A-7 and 100 horsepower (75 kW) as the A-7a. In service these engines suffered from reliability problems and were prone to catch fire while in operation. @goodwoodmotorcircuit @thevscc @canonuk #automotivephotogeraphy #thevscc #goodwoodmotorcircuit #motorsportsphotography #rmpiix #voitureclassique #voiture #voituregoodwood #petrolicious #edwardiancars #aeroenginedcar #motorsport #hrdc #royalautomobileclub #gentlemandriver #carphotograhy #historicracingcars #madeinfrance #drivetastefully #drivevintage #canon #motorsport1924 #sfedgetrophy #carsandcoffee #vintageracing #aerocar

The 1905 Darracq 200HP piloted by Mark Walker in the S.F. Edge Trophy at Goodwood Members Meeting. An utterly thrilling race evoking the halcyon days on early motorsport. What was the fastest automobile in 1905? It was the 1905 Darracq 200HP. Powered by the first true example of a V8 engine.Built in France with the sole aim of breaking speed records, it was shipped to the United States soon after its debut to show its prowess and made its first 120-mph run at America’s birthplace of speed, the Ormond-Daytona Beach in Florida. This is no small feat, there are no floor boards, you brace your feet on the cross member of the chassis. If you look down all you would see is the road flashing by. Algy Lee Guinness "I remember glancing down between my legs one day, and to see the road passing in one grey-coloured ribbon within inches of one's anatomy made me very hastily look up, but with ugly thoughts of what would happen supposing one's foot slipped off the cross member!” Automobiles Darracq France was a manufacturer of motor vehicles and aero engines in Suresnes, near Paris. The enterprise, known at first as A Darracq et Cie, was founded in 1896 by successful businessman Alexandre Darracq. Fitted with a 22.5 L overhead valve V8 made from two Bennett Trophy engines mated to a single crankcase, producing 200 hp (150 kW; 200 PS), making it one of the first specialised land speed racers, and on December 30, 1905, Victor Hémery drove this car to a speed of 109.65 mph (176.46 km/h) in the flying kilometer at Arles, France. The V8 was shipped to Ormond Beach, Florida, (then host to numerous land speed record attempts), where it was timed at 122.45 mph (197.06 km/h) in 1906 to win the title "1906 King of Speed"; this was not enough to hold the land speed record, however, which went to a Stanley, the Rocket, at 127.6 mph (205.35 km/h). @goodwoodmotorcircuit @motorsport1924 @canonuk #voitureclassique #automotivephotogeraphy #motorsportphotography #thevscc #edwardianracer #gentlemandriver #rmpiix #petrolicious #automobile #carphotograhy #automotive #hrdc #canon #goodwoodmotorcircuit #veterancars #darracq #historicracingcars #cardesign #madeinfrance

📸Desconocido. ————————————————————————————— #astonmartinracing #astonmartinv8 #britishracing #britishracingcar #groupc #groupccars #groupcracing #prototyperacing #classicsportcar #motorsportlegends #motorsporthistory #classicracingcars #historicracing #racinglegend #racinghistory #vintageracing #oldschoolracing #vintagemotorsport #daytona24 #daytona24hours #historicracingcars

Jack Rawles in The Peter Collins Trophy keeping the original factory 100S on the black stuff and coming home with a great result of 3rd. In 1955 the Donald Healey Motor Co. decided to build a competition version of the 100 known as the 100S. These came after a series of Special Test Cars that experimented with the final design which finally appeared at the 1955 Sebring 12 Hours. Changes from the standard model included a new Weslake alloy cylinder head with larger valves, a high-lift camshaft, nitride-hardened steel crankshaft and forged-steel connecting rods which helped the model achieve 132 bhp. The 100S was also one of the first cars to be equipped with the Dunlop disc brakes. Additional features included a 20-gallon fuel tank, a stonger chassis and Lucas Le Mans 24 Hour headlights. Externally the 100S was distinguished by its smaller front grill, external fuel filler, louvered hood and perspex front window. On track the Healey achieved some remarkable results. Stirling Moss and Lance Macklin placed 6th at the 1955 Sebring 12-Hours which was the model’s debuting race. Later the car would appear at all the famous races including the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans, 1955 Carrera Panamericana, 1955 Nassau Speed Weeks and Mille Miglia. Only 50 such cars were produced in 1955 (along with five ‘works’ competition cars known as Special Test Cars), of which 37 are thought to survive. 14,634 Austin-Healey 100s were produced. The 100 was the first of three models later called the Big Healeys to distinguish them from the much smaller Austin-Healey Sprite. @jackrawles46 @bill_rawles_classic_cars @goodwoodmotorcircuit @canonuk #automotivephotogeraphy #austinhealey100s #austinhealey #goodwoodmotorcircuit #drivetastefully #drivevintage #billrawlesclassiccars #voitureclassique #rmpiix #voituregoodwood #gentlmandriver #stirlingmoss #motorsportphotography #historicracingcars #hrdc #canon #healey100s #jackrawles #petrolicious #cardesign #classiccarsdaily

1911 Delage Type X Coupe de L’Auto “Denise" Paul Bablot’s ‘La Coupe Des Voitures Legeres Winner 1911 Delage 3 litre Type X 2 Seat racer REGISTRATION NO. BL 2618 CHASSIS NO. 1712 TYPE X501 ENGINE NO. 4X101 20.78 bhp per litre Transmission 5-Speed Manual Top speed~95 kph / 58.99 mph Made for the Grand Prix de Voitures Légeres at Bois de Boulogne and won the Coupe de l’Auto. Winner of the most significant French motor race of 1911, with the premier award, ‘La Coupe de L’Auto’. Louis Delage had entered four cars for this race, selecting France’s leading drivers, René Thomas, Victor Rigal, Albert Guyot and Paul Bablot to pilot his all-new 3 litre Type X racing cars – a formidable team indeed.  French motor sport authorities sorted out a sensible new racing formula. For the 1911 season with the 3 litre formula, restrictions on stroke/bore ratios to 2:1 enabling Delage to build a highly efficient, Michelat-designed new engine with a bore and stroke of 80 x 149mm, displacing 2,996cc.  Two seats and mudguards were obligatory and a curious rule banned the display of the manufacturer’s name on the car. In the 1950’s Lord Charnwood  gave the Delage the affectionate nickname ‘Denise’ after complete restoration. @goodwoodmotorcircuit @thevscc @canonuk #Automobile #voiture #delage #goodwoodmotorcircuit #thevscc #edwardiancars #historicracingcars #voituregoodwood #rmpiix #automotivephotogeraphy #petrolicious #carphotograhy #classiccarsdaily # #madeinfrance #voitureclassique #motorsportphotography #gentlmandriver #historiccar #canon #sigmalens

1959 Balchowsky Old Yeller II Buick Special  The Old Yeller II Buick Special Race Car was built in the fall of 1959 at the legendary Hollywood Motors. In 1960 Old Yeller II was driven by by many legendary drivers such as Carroll Shelby (Road America & Santa Barbara), Dan Gurney (Riverside International Raceway & Laguna Seca), Bob Bondurant, Billy Krause, Bobby Drake, Paul O'Shea, and Max Balchowsky. It raced from December 1959 until 1974 with the last SCCA race being a regional race in California. It was found by David Gibb in the mid 1970s. Mr. Gibb restored the Old Yeller II to a basic original configuration.  The wonderful Ernie Nagamatsu bought it from Dave Gibbs and restored it period correct configuration of the 1959 build time period. “Old Yeller” ?, Balchowsky designed and built nine Old Yeller/Ol' Yaller cars. His first two were named Old Yeller after the dog in Disney's 1957 film who was yellow, mangy and unwanted. The car's frame was famously built from garage floor chalk lines. Tubular ladder type frame. Jaguar transmission. Studebaker rear-end. This was Balchowsky's most famous car that was raced in 1959 and 1960 and produced the most wins of Balchowsky's cars.  @goodwoodmotorcircuit @canonuk @classicandsportscar @audrainmotorsport #oldyeller #motorsport #ernienagamatsu #rmpiix #automotive #motorsportphotography #voiture #goodwoodmotorcircuit #petrolicious #drivetastefully #drivevintage #automotivephotogeraphy #buick #carollshelby #carphotograhy #historicracingcars #canon #sigmalens #goodwoodmembersmeeting #classiccars #racingcars #v8 #maxbalchowsky #dangurney #voituregoodwood
