✨It’s a no-makeup kind of day so far. I woke up around 2:45 AM, and really didn’t get back to sleep. I also have allergy eyes today, I’m hoping they’ll calm down in a bit. ⭐️💚Anyways, the results are in- I have #PPPD or persistent postural perceptual dizziness. It’s something that I have probably low level been dealing with for years, and decline in eyesight along with the trauma of surgery pushed things to a chronic level. The communication between my eyes, ears and brain, along with what I’m experiencing in my environment has reached a level of constant overstimulation. I’m awaiting an approval for a 6 week course of treatment where I’ll basically be retraining my visual and audio processing to not trigger a threat in my brain all the time. It was really great to hear that this is an actual thing that I’m experiencing and not simply getting a shoulder shrug from another doctor. Apparently my balance for someone my age is off the charts horrible right now, but my hearing is that of a 10 year old- too good actually, according to the doctor, which is probably actually lending to the acuteness of my current situation. 🤦♀️ And funny enough, I feel like it’s not as keen as it had been 🤣- a small favor perhaps? They also said that it’s often hereditary to a certain level, which makes sense. I feel like I have 30 doctor appointments coming up for various things- I’m a little overwhelmed, but also glad that I’m FINALLY getting to check some things off the list ✅. Picture the scene … This was me - every evening, falling asleep in front of the tv, only to go to bed and take ages to fall asleep AND THEN be wide awake at 3am. Every day I was exhausted, had no energy and was hitting the coffee to get through my to-do list. Sounds familiar? I literally couldn't carry on like this, so this is what I did differently … 💫 I made sure that I had stopped eating at least 2h before bed Eating dinner later in the evening is not the best way to get a good sleep. Your body is busy digesting that meal, which will keep you awake, and stop you getting deep, restful sleep. 💫 I cut back on coffee, and no coffee at all after lunch Caffeine will keep your body alert and not ready for sleep at all. Switch to decaff coffee, herbal tea or water after lunch to ensure that caffeine isn’t going to keep you awake. 💫 I made sure I was off all screens at least 2h before bed Screens emit blue light that suppresses production of melatonin – your sleep hormone, that you need to get a good night’s sleep. Ideally, come off all screens 2h before bed, or maybe look at getting some blue-light-blocking glasses. 💫 I started writing down everything that was on my mind or that I needed to do the next day in the early evening Emptying your brain of everything that you are worrying about by writing it down can be really helpful to get things out of your mind, and then allowing you to get a restful sleep. 💫 I created my own ‘bedtime routine’ This works for children, so why not for you. Play around with what works for you – maybe a warm bath or shower, then get into bed and read for a while or listen to an audiobook, listen to a sleep app or meditation, cup of herbal tea and then sleep. I know exactly what it feels like to not be getting good sleep, and it sucks! Can you relate to this? (4:55 am) What can I say.... I like to live life like an idiot. Ok, hear me out. I was going about my day, and while scrolling through instagram, I got this book recommendation. Now, I do what I always do when a book has piqued my interest, I review it on Amazon. I read the comments and determine the spice level (most important part). Well, let me tell you what. This book apparently rubbed some readers the wrong way. "Too dark, too spicy, age gap to wide," and that folks was all it took to hook me in. Now, I have to confess it's not typically my kind of smut. It's a spicy MFM. So you could imagine that I was giggling and laughing and gasping at some of the, well, you know the....ok I'm not gonna to say it. But my oh my oh my, like seriously, I'm still blushing. Did I mention I read this book in one day. I put my other book on hold just to read this one. The storyline was just too intriguing. I would also add that there were moments where I needed to take a cold shower 🥶. No worries, I have no shame. Ok, enough of that. I'm too tired to be funny right now.
