One of the best things I have come across on my Travels.. an innovative Cold Room. And what is it made out of? CHARCOAL! You heard that right! A simple combination of charcoal wrapped in chicken wire as walls, a double mabati (galvanised iron sheets) roof at an angle is all it took to make their very own cold room. Every morning the walls are sprinkled with water to keep the air cool. When you walk in; you can feel the difference! The fruits and veges here were fresh and cool. Did you know about this? What cosy Rainy evenings in the Mara look like. . The team planned an exclusive sundowner which was so so well set up; but it poured and poured and we got back to camp. The drive back in the rain was insane - a first for me and we enjoyed it I must say.
