I don’t know how to say this in a way that sounds ‘pretty’ so I’m going to say it in a way that is finally freeing to my soul… In the last 6 months I’ve been truly lost within myself. I’ve always had that mama gut feeling that there was something unique about my little boy, and for the past year we’ve been under the impression that combined ADHD was the only thing that was going on so we did our best to help him in that area. But things just kept getting worse with behaviors, school, massive aggression. We started in home behavioral therapy in Oct 2023 and I saw a side of my baby that was his way of saying “mama, help me.” On feb 14, 2024 my beautiful little boy was diagnosed with level 2 autism on top of existing adhd. I’ll be honest, I think I died on the inside that day. It’s taken me 6 months to find the words to say, to show up on social media and say something, anything. As a creative I wanted to do him justice by being a supportive mama and making something that I was proud of- for him. As a mother, a constant advocate, his protector, best friend, & role model I always want him to know that he is no different that anyone else but as a super hero lover he has gained his powers.
