Leah (from Whiplash) was very kind to give us some behind-the-scenes info on this partnership, and you can read all about it in the latest Hop Glossy 🔥 [Leah announced her last day with the team last week - thank you, Leah, and all the best in your future adventures!] This beer is mature, developing many different layers of flavours with each sip. The sourness of green apples and unripe cherries come to the main stage, fading into the background for the cherries to play solo in the front. It’s a symphony of sweet, sour and dry, tickling your senses with a mild spicy finish, developed from the ageing and entering your taste buds in a pleasant order. @loughgillbrewery Tropical Hazy IPA. Ok...this one is special... It's a collab with @baxbiergroningen. The smell has notes of zest, lime, fruits and sweet rye bread. Taste - hops, grapefruit and soda bread. The finish is terrific as well - fruity-sweet and hoppy. The whole tasting process is very intense and fulfilling. I've tried beers from Lough Gill brewery many times and gotta say they are masters of surprises and collabs. A strong 9/10 for me, seriously wonderful ale. Magic Mist from @thewhitehag brewery - very refreshing pale ale. Nice smell of grapefruit and nuts. The taste is super, full of pine nuts, grapefruit, passionfruit, and hops. Aftertaste keeps the same line of fruits, nuts and hops. Medium carbonation. Ordered this one from @craftcentral.ie - they always have awesome selection of new craft beers. A new beer from @hopfully_brewing we have their Patience DDH IPA coming in at 5.5% ABV in a 440ml can. Love my Double Dry Hopped beers and this is no exception, aromas of grapefruit and slight pineapple. Choice of the week - O’Hara’s Double IPA - O’hara’s Brewery - Carlow, 🇮🇪) From my last trip in Dublin, I picked up an array of beers from this brewery. I was surprised by the quality of the Irish stout I drank on St. Patrick’s Day. This DIPA continues in this vein. On the market since 2013 but in the top 6 of most checked in beers of this brewery. We have a full-bodied beer with caramel malt and heavily hopped with Amarillo. Cascade was added at the end via dry-hopping and gives it the tropical grapefruit flavors. No more problems Jim!! An emotional day here at Brehon HQ as we say best of luck to Mr. Jim Malone as he retires. Jim came here 6 years ago and became arguably our most valuable asset. The phrase, "Problem Jim!" was probably said 3 times a day, and this was Jim's call to action. He could fix any problem and amongst other things he was our fitter, welder, electrician, plumber but most of all, he was one of the nicest men you could ever meet.
