~ Rested ~ Two Talents. This is my first oil painting. The secondary two watercolour classes ripped holes in art papers and my confidence in Art. I stopped drawing for 35 years. During my season of burn-out in 2017, the oil painting module I took was truly therapeutic for me. The medium fit my style and boosted my confidence in art making! ~ Faith, Hope, Love ~ In my hands I see nails of my continual sins hammering Jesus to the cross time and time again, boring holes in our Garden of Eden. Despite my human weaknesses, God uses them to co-create a new garden. And now these three remain - Faith that He cares for us like lilies (Luke 12:27-28), Hope in what is laid up for us as we look heavenward like sunflowers (Colossians 1:4-6), Love that blossoms in glorious splendour like a rose (Isaiah 35:1-2). But the greatest of these is Love given to us with the crown of thorns. ~~~~~ Chow Shan Shan is a Sydney-based artist who started her art journey in 2017. ~ The Unfinished Exchange ~ On 19 December 2022, I visited the Church of All Nations next to the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem, Israel, where Jesus obeyed God’s will unto death. In the vision, I saw my heart on my left hand and Jesus standing a few metres away, with a cross that looked like a golden sword. There was an exchange that seemed incomplete as I struggled to obey His will. ~~~~~ Veon’s background was in finance and risk but she has since been trained in art therapy. ~ Broken Surrender ~ The little tree represents the process of growth - initially, it was a seed that was being crushed and buried in the soil. After a season of struggling, the tree is growing; Isiah 61:3, says, “they will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.” What was in my hands back then, was my brokenness. I felt small - was I good enough? Am I of value? But as I surrendered all that I am back into God’s hands, I found that His hands guided me back to His promises; I grew deep roots in Him and then, truly began to grow. ~~~~~ Samantha Cheong is an artist who loves to tell stories: a paintbrush, a stylus on her ipad or through a tapestry of words accompanied by melody. ~ The Last Supper ~ The Last Supper is from a collection of physical art I created based on an NFT series I did where I created many different types of sheep that I call "Meh". The inspiration behind this series is from 1 Corinthians 9:22 where Paul says, "I have become all things to all men". ~ Consider The Wildflowers – Luke 12:27 ~ This was inspired by my recent trip to the state park in California. I was surrounded by beautiful mountains that bloom these gorgeous wildflowers. ~ A New Life ~ “What is the most precious gift that God has given me?” This was the first question I asked myself when I saw the theme, "What is in your hands?". After much thought, I realised that it is my new life in Christ! A new life that is cleansed from all sin, a new life born in Christ which is set to flourish with joy. I used the butterfly to depict a transformation of life, renewed and set to take off into the bright future. The imaginary plants represent the people and circumstances which the Lord places around us to help us flourish. ~ The Butterfly ~ There will be moments in life where you feel that God is far away. The beginning of 2024 was such time in our lives. It was filled with challenges and a passing away of a dear relative. Our lives were filled with questions and lamentations , “Where were you, my God?” The Butterfly is a metamorphosis of God’s answer to me. As a symbol of the Resurrection, the Butterfly represents the transformed life of a believer from a caterpillar to a stunning creature. It appears dead and disappears into a cocoon but emerges far more beautiful and powerful than before. It was as if He spoke and said, “Joyce, you are already a New Creation in Me. It does not matter if the world outside crumbles. I will be your front and rear guard. I have you in My Hands.” Now, what is in my own hands is knowing that I have nothing in my own hands; that My Lord holds me in His Hands and we who are in Him can simply dance and shine like a resurrected Butterfly. ~~~~~ Joyce Chong is an emerging Singaporean artist. Her love and passion is in abstract expressionism. Self-taught in abstract art, she is also under the tutelage of renowned local artist Mei Ho. Drawing her inspirations mainly from sentiments, experiences and her surroundings’ state-of-mind, Joyce desires her art to evoke strong emotions in her audiences. “My hope is that the viewer will feel different moods, ignite a sense of euphoria or even goosebumps when they look at my pieces." “Growing in Christ.” This rose reminded a lot of the kids of the movie, “Beauty and the Beast.” What I remember from this movie is the beast’s transformation from a beast to a healed man, able to receive and give love to Belle. As a Christian, God takes us through a transformation, sanctification process. True, long lasting change in one’s heart can only happen by the power of the Holy Spirit. We need Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. We also are called to die to self and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. If you haven’t already yet, place your heart into God’s hands and see how He can transform you from the inside out! Soon enough, you will see more of Him and less of the “old” you. You will become the new person He made you to be in Christ! Sometimes, it is hard to believe in God’s promises when you feel like everything in front of you is telling you a different story; another outcome than what God has put in your heart. But remember, our feelings as human beings are not reliable. God’s promises are reliable. He is who He says He is and He will do what He promised. He is faithful to His Word. So, stand on His word. Remember, that you are His child and He is not done with you yet! This past season, we reviewed the story of Noah’s Ark in the book of Genesis and discussed the significance of the rainbow. Rainbows in the sky remind us of God’s promise: Genesis 9:13-17: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.” These Art projects were completed by TK students, Kindergarteners, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. This is a PROPHETIC WORD FOR YOU on Wednesday, 13 March FACE OF A MAN Revelation 4:7 (NLT) The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. One of the four creatures that sat around God’s throne had the face of a man. So, in reality, man was with God before Adam’s creation, but notice the qualifier: God said let us create “man in our own image”. That lets us know that Adam as a man was created differently from the being that had the face of a man. God created us in His image with spirit, soul, and body. The body was made from dust, so the flesh or body is carnal. When the devil tempted Eve to eat of the forbidden tree, and she enticed her husband to do the same, a curse was placed upon the serpent that it would eat dust (Genesis 3:14). Yet, we all know snakes don’t eat dust. So, what does this ‘dust’ actually refer to? It symbolizes the flesh. The enemy attacks the flesh, so it’s crucial to nourish your spirit daily with the Word of God to prevail over the desires of our flesh. Keep affirming milk and honey even in your spiritual life and it shall be so! PROPHETIC DECLARATION I am growing in my spirit by the Word of God. Hello angels 🌷 As the end of February draws near, I’ve been musing on the quantum implications of a ~leap year~ & the condensation of time, which is a very real supernatural phenomena that I have been experiencing. In beautiful synchronistic fashion, a sister sent me a Facebook post today that inspired me to write a poem. What a fan girl moment when I finally met @janethyunart face to face after following her in IG for few years!🤩🤩🤩 It’s such a privilege and honor to be learning from this pioneering spiritual giant in Prophetic Arts!! Thank you Janet for obeying the call of God and coming to Asia to raise up Creatives for His kingdom! ❤️🔥🙏🏼 We learnt about the importance of obedience to God and leaning to Him to allow HS to guide us more than how well we can draw. Also learnt about the importance of preparing the spiritual atmosphere (background) before drawing the main subject! Drawing out different variations of compositions of our subject matter also helps us to improve!❤️❤️❤️💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Each of us are to create our own Spiritual Portrait (our calling) and Janet guided us along the way, encouraging us and showing us! What a aha moment for me to see how Janet sparked up my “angel” just after adding a few strokes! Day 4/100 If you surveyed your life right now, are there difficulties everywhere? For most of us that’s reality in the natural. However, what is a greater reality is that God has equipped you to overcome them. Before you came to earth he gave you an assignment, that you would walk closely to him and fulfill it. So know in the middle of the trial you can dig deep and decide to overcome. Yes decide. There is nothing too big that can’t be turned around, but sometimes you gotta grab on to truth like a bulldog and not let go. Sometimes you gotta get a holy anger (it’s not a sin to get angry by the way, he said be angry and don’t sin. Say bye to that Christian “good girl culture.”) and let that rise up in you and say no more, I don’t have to put up with this. Being one with Jesus means you have everything you need. His thoughts toward you outnumber the grains of sand. He is for you, with you, in you and all around you. What are you facing right now? What threatens to overwhelm you? Rise up with confidence that God has the way out. He is there to lead you. Run your race, it’s the good fight of faith. “You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I'd ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book. Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought! O God, your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore!
