Back to where it all started @shannonsonpine where “Street Walker” was born. Technically, it may have started with the demo I brought to @thecompoundstudio where @antoine.arvizu laid down the beat that made the song really come to life. I don’t recall exactly when the experience with Wild Bill took place, when he diffused a brewing disagreement between a Street Walker and customers on our patio. But it’s not a matter of how things happened exactly as it is that they DID happen so this song could become what it is. I’m really proud of this work and I especially love making videos. I took this photo just as the aurora borealis was starting (see past posts of time lapses) and is a reminder to me where the journey of “Life On Mars” began... We had just completed a halfway point of our journey through Iceland and we were not sure exactly where we’d be sleeping this cold night, maybe in our van, but it was significantly colder in this part of Iceland on this particular night. So when we happened upon this tiny town with an open Inn and brewing borealis, warm soup and new friends we made, we knew this is where we would stay that cold night... What we experienced was pure amazement as we finally just laid our bodies on the ground and stared up at the dancing lights in the sky... the song “Live One” illustrates our Iceland experience in more direct detail as it is a meditations on extremes, duality and transcendence.
