I don’t enjoy the starting stitches—-but the more I stitch, and begin to see the piece come to life, the more I want to stitch. I find it very hard to not be monogamous. BUT! Having a stitch that is far being a start is needed to fall back on when the most loved is finally finished. Stitch by stitch we tell our story under the gaze of angels and of stars. Every barren winter I try to do a large cross stitch, or art work that I know will be completed by the time spring beauty rolls back around. It is away I am able to connect with my beautiful grandmother who has past ( there are many ways to honor our past loved ones, by continuing doing things they enjoyed and loved in their lifetime we continue their thread ❤) . This particular one has double meaning it was started 7 years ago for my mother, who grew up in Europe and as a child always wanted to have this picture, but never got one. A few months in to the start of this my mother's cancer had returned and with in a few short months she past. The whirlwind of this and other events caused me to put this down for 7 years. Until this past winter it was time to complete it, and as I did I could feel my grandmother and my mother around me, though she never physically saw it completed she was with me as I did it. Death does not break the bonds of love, nor the thread that binds us.
