21冊目、人を追いつめる話し方心をラクにする話し方 「新時代の話す力」と同カテゴリの本であったが、本著はケーススタディにより話し方の良い＆悪い面の実例を読者に気づかせる本。北風上司と太陽上司が各々チームメンバーにどのように話すか？という内容なのでかなり読みやすく半日で読めてしまった。 著者はこの本を書くことになった環境を2つ挙げている。 ひとつ目は、デジタルやリモートワーク進展により、膝を突き合わすのではなく短い言葉で効率的に伝える必要性が増える中、ついきつい言葉を話す、または書くことにより「北風化」してしまう環境。 ふたつ目は、世代間の価値観の違い。あんまり世代間の価値観を枕詞にしてしまうのもジェネレーションハラスメントになってしまうけど、この本に書いてある昭和、平成、令和各世代の会話特徴は的を得ているなぁと。 ちなみに自分は平成世代（1995年〜2013年入社を指す）だけど、会話の特徴4つが全て当てはまった。 冒頭記載の通り話し方例満載だが、実際に使えるかどうかは別。例えば「幽体離脱していいんだよ！」とか「あなたが来ることを待ち侘びていたよ！」とか実際家なさそう（笑）。この手の本はむしろその話し方の背景や理由等を読み手が理解しないと逆効果になりそうな感じもしたし、自分だったら違う表現するなというものもあった。 話し方例のひとつ「失敗したっていいんだよ！」って言える自信はない。でも失敗したら「その失敗を次に繋げるためにはどうしたらいいだろう？」これだったら言える！自分は太陽上司と北風上司の間ぐらいだろうか… ●人生の岐路にいる部下には「上司」ではなく「一個人」として向き合う ●上司という立場の人は、そのスタンス、主義、思想がそのまま部下によっては「ルール」になる ●相手の行動を見て、良いと思った行動はその場で短く褒める #読書 #reading #目指せ年間50冊 #人を追いつめる話し方心をラクにする話し方 #ひきたよしあき #2022年の本 #202404

Bannen has penned a lovely, sweet sequel to The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy...with DRAGONS! Twyla and Frank have been best friends and work partners for years. So while recent events have made their job a lot safer, it's also made it a lot more boring. But when they find the body of one of their fellow marshals under mysterious circumstances, their job seems to have just gotten more interesting. However, the more they investigate, the more complicated the case becomes...and so does their relationship! This was great. Iron flame - ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️ "Violence, remember its only the body thats fragile. You are unbreakable." And we are finally finished it after what seems like a decade 😫 i will sleep better tonight knowing i don't have to pick this up again 😫🤣 I started reading iron flame straight after fourth wing and had to put it down as i just couldn't get into it. I finally picked it up with determination that i was gunna finish it 🤞 . I did indeed finish it but this was no comparison to fourth wing. I felt like this was drawn out and dare i say it a little "boring" at times. That being said did i 'like' the story yes.... did i love it like fourth wing not even close. Dziś pod lupę weźmiemy 🔍: Tytuł: Sycylijczyk Autor: Mario Puzo Wydawnictwo: @wydawnictwoalbatros Ograniczenie wiekowe: +16 Ocena: ∞︎/5 ⭐ Moje kilka słów o książce: Chyba powoli zakochuje się coraz bardziej w książkach właśnie Maria Puzo. Sycylijczyk, ciąg dalszy Ojca Chrzestnego znów porwał mnie do samego końca. W tej części przede wszystkim opisana jest historia i całe zmagania niejakiego Salvatore Guiliana, który próbuje być Robin Hoodem z Sycylii. Jednakże należy pamiętać, ze zdrada podąża za zdradą, i właśnie to przytrafia się głównemu bohaterowi, któremu poświęcona była ta powieść. Mamy tu również odczynienia z kolejnymi barwnymi i ciekawymi postaciami dzięki którym niekiedy ciężko się jest oderwać od czytania kolejnych stron. W powieści tej mamy też kolejne ciekawe i pouczające sentencje, które otwierają głowę na one postrzeganie siebie czy też świata, jednym z licznych przykładów może być chociażby kawałek wypowiedzi samego dona Corleone do jego syna Michaela, który powrócił z Sycylii: „ Pamiętaj o tym zawsze, żyj i nie po to, żeby być bohaterem, ale dla samego życia. Po jakimś czasie bohaterowie zaczynają trochę przypominać głupców.” Ten akurat przykład idealnie zaczął mi pasować do całej historii zawartej w ów książce, ale to już też zostawię ocenie osobom, które przeczytały bądź pragną przeczytać właśnie Sycylijczyka. Tak jak Ojciec Chrzestny, tak i Sycylijczyk są na naprawdę wysokim poziomie, pragnę tylko też przypomnieć, że tutaj nie ma języka ów powszechnego w dzisiejszych czasach i niektóre rzeczy trzeba przeczytać kilka razy bądź skorzystać z internetu, aby zrozumieć ich znaczenie. Co jednak nie zmienia faktu, że warto jednak spojrzeć na tą pozycję, aby spróbować zakochać się w twórczości Maria Puzo, tak jak to przyszło w moim wypadku. Jego kolekcja książek na mojej półce ostro się kurczy więc przy najbliższych sporych książkowych zakupach musi się pojawić kilka pozycji jego twórczości! Dear Dotty by Jaclyn Westlake Publishing Date: June 4, 2024 368 Pages Rosie Benson’s life is falling apart. In the span of a couple of weeks, Rosie gets fired from her job, finds out her parents are getting divorced, learns her best friend is dating the ex-boss that fired her, and her favorite person, her great-aunt Dotty, dies. Feeling lost and still making mistakes (taking the wrong job, dating the wrong guy, etc.), Rosie emails her aunt’s contact list letting them know that Dotty passed away and requesting stories about her aunt. Rosie learns that there was so much about her aunt she didn’t know, including that her name wasn’t actually Dotty, and how important it is to build a life that makes you happy, not just accepting what life hands you, even if it means you don’t live up to other people’s measurements of success. I really loved this book. The characters were all so complex and realistic. There were points where I wanted to slap Rosie upside the head for her dumb decisions and other times I wanted to hug and cry with her. The book was so relatable, showing how beautiful and complex life can be. That there can be joy alongside grief and how important it is to ask for help when we are struggling. When I grow up, I want to be Dotty. I want to live a life so full of love and adventure that the people I leave behind come together to celebrate my life and find comfort and friendship in one another. What a gift Dotty gave to all of her people! Mon avis sur "Say you swear" de Meagan Brandy 3/5 Mon avis : En toute honnêteté, j'ai trouvé ce livre un peu bizarre... Il y avait des moments que j'ai trouvé très bien et d'autres très creux et inutiles. Dans l'ensemble, j'ai trouvé que c'était un peu trop long. Je n'ai pas du tout aimé le début car je trouvais les personnages trop superficiels avec des prénoms qui allaient bien avec mon impression. (Il y a un gars qui s'appelait Chase. CHASE ! Est-ce que, avec mon accent anglais éclaté, j'entendais presque chaise ? Oui totalement ! Alors comment prendre au sérieux ce personnage si je visualise une chaise quand il est évoqué ?!) Toujours est-il que je n'ai pas du tout aimé le début que je n'ai pas réussi à prendre au premier degré (ça faisait vraiment parodie). Après le milieu était beaucoup mieux (la relation amoureuse ✨). Il y avait quand même beaucoup de longueurs et le nombre de pages restantes m'inquiétait un peu vu leur bonheur apparent... Le plot twist était pas mal je trouve mais a un peu trop duré à mon goût. Et aussi, à plusieurs passages différents, je n'ai pas compris ce qui se passait. Je ne comprenais pas la scène qui se déroulait. C'est peut être juste moi qui suis stupide mais j'ai trouvé ça un peu embêtant. Après les scènes concernées n'étaient pas hyper importantes... Quant à la fin, je ne l'ai pas trouvé exceptionnelle, elle était plutôt attendue et n'avait pas grand chose de surprenant. Et l'épilogue... J'imagine qu'il était bien pour les personnes aimant les épilogues mais pas pour moi, qui ait une haine plus ou moins justifiée pour les épilogues. Bon, je me rends compte en écrivant cette critique que je tacle un peu ce livre alors qu'en soit j'ai plutôt bien aimé... Review: Bellies by Nicola Dinan 🍑🌈 I first heard about this book by going to a talk at @westkirbybooks where I thought the book sounded AMAZING, and then a friend kindly gifted it to me for Christmas. Premise: Tom and Ming meet during their university drag night and begin a relationship. But, shortly after they move to London after graduating university, Ming announces her intention to transition. From London to Kuala Lumpur, New York to Cologne, we follow Tom and Ming as they face shifts in their relationship in the wake of Ming's transition. I knew I’d enjoy this book before I started reading it and it didn’t disappoint. It was beautifully written, vulnerable, and I really enjoyed hearing from Ming and Tom’s perspectives. It was the kind of book where both the main characters had their flaws and didn’t always make the right decisions, but this just added to the honest and raw nature of the book. I reached a part of the story where I wanted to hide the book and cry, but I think any book that makes you feel something is a work of art. Here's my favourite quote: “But I’ve been thinking about how the trunks of trees bend and curve when they grow next to each other. Their leaves twist to accommodate each other. Their closeness reads on the shape of them, and you can infer the shape of one from the shape of another. When you know someone and you grow together, your shape and form become theirs.” Overall, I gave it 5 stars and I can’t believe it’s a debut novel! Loved the character progression, loved the vulnerability it portrayed and how it’s fine to not have everything figured out, the importance of connections and friendships and also the descriptions of OCD and mental health. I was hoping for the story line to pick up speed but it was more of a slow read. You get a look into the personal lives of regular everyday people with a little twist & one unexpected character.
