I totaly forgot about this in December (and January as well) so here is my December and January sum up: New things in my wardrobe: A thin down jacket and a black cashmere scarf (both Christmas gifts), a black and a red basic t-shirt and a pair of burgundy sneakers! Already used most of them a lot👌 Things I really wanted to buy: I’ve found both dreamy red and beige chanel bags on pre-loved sites during december and january, the red ones sold out super fast and the beige is just not within my budget🙈 Accually for now none of of my wishlist bags are😂 Best thing this months: In December a thing happen that made everything except good health unimportant❤️ So happy everyone in my family are back on their feet! With that said the best thing was that me and hubby were able to go on our dream holiday, a memory for life❤️

My first #empties of 2020! . 1️⃣ #PaulasChoice Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner served me well as a bridge from cleansers to serums. I used it on a cotton pad to make sure the last traces of makeup and sunscreen are off. It was okay, but didn’t bring a lot to the party as either hydration or as an antioxidant. I think I’d rather spend the money on something more active. Also, this is one of ~2 timers in their lineup that are a 4 oz bottle — for the same price as the 6 oz. bottle! . 2️⃣ #DermaE Collagen Night Cream (shown here decanted into a travel bottle) is still a nice, rich night cream with peptides. I have a couple more jars to use up. Continuing to ASSESS MY STASH as a strategy to avoid over-buying. There are a ton of interesting second cleansers on the market today. It’s so tempting! Let’s be real, they get washed off. I was itching to make a purchase yesterday. One strategy to avoid over-purchasing is to CHECK YOUR STASH and honestly assess how long this will last. Belated post here! . Not too much of an eventful weekend. I worked a double friday and a short shift on saturday. . . Unfortunately I caved and bought some food from work on saturday (😭😭😭). It was $3 so nothing over the top but still disappointing. Atleast I'm learning from my mistake and can do better in the upcoming weeks. . . I was off today. December no buy/low buy 2019 update and 2019 reflections! In this final month I decided to try out a 'sustainably packaged' brand, elate cosmetics! I'm really happy with what I got. Second page are some sample sizes from elate. Third and fourth page are my beauty related Christmas presents! Fifth and sixth pages are the open elate products and some swatches. Then at the end is the summary of how the whole year has gone with my 2019 rules! ------ I'll talk a little bit about what I think about my elate purchase but it's still pretty new so it's not a full review. First, I wish there were more reviews and swatches of these products online but I really like the bamboo packaging so I thought it would be neat to try anyway. The lipsticks aren't refillable but each item on the elate website has a description on how to recycle or compost non-refillable items, which I thought was pretty cool! I'm liking the concealer so far for spot concealing, it's buildable sheer to medium and the shade I got matches me pretty well. I have a few dry spots but it didn't cling to them and set pretty well with powder. I think I'm a little less picky with spot concealer since I started using a small flat synthetic concealer brush to be honest, but I still think this one is pretty nice! The powder foundation samples I got match ok but not enough for me to want to purchase them, but on my holiday trip I ended up finding the clove + hallow one that came as a single, matched pretty well, and my mom gifted it to me! I also got a wayne goss brush! I love it for so many uses already. Love the gifted lipstick too! ---- I think I did really well this year! I'm proud of my no buy and even though I went a couple items over I think it went great! I'm absolutely loving my stash right now and it's mostly because of my low buy efforts for the last two years. I want to keep going for items that come as singles or in refillable packaging, I've really been enjoying seeing my stash head in that mix and match direction and just traveling with those items this past few days really cements that desire. It also helps make me feel a little better to have less plastic in my life, if only by a little bit!
Finally a Finale! 🥂 happy new year! Here are my results from my year-long project pan! 👋 used up/ reached goal: 24 👋 decluttered: 10 👌hit pan: 7 (These values are just for items within this project.) 🥂 I am very satisfied with my progress in this project. I was able to finish up much more than just 19 products. What’s equally important to me is that I learned about many, many more products I already own. 🤔I will be doing a 20 in 2020 project, however tracking 19 different items was ultimately overwhelming. For my 20 in 2020 I will instead choose only 10 products, and use the rotating element to help me get to my 20 item goal.

Tracking my spending this year has taught so much about myself, consumerism, and shopping as a coping mechanism. I have a long way to go and I’ll probably track my spending forever bc I love excel spreadsheets 🤟🏻💻 I wish I tracked my spending in USA (oh boy 💸) I wish I bought less scrunchies, and I wish I bought all the tie dye from that vintage shop on Hollywood Blvd.
