This morning I was given very clear instructions by Ellie and Tom not to go near the workroom. Awhile later I was given 2 parcels all wrapped up and presented to me (and Ellie and Tom were beaming with excitement) and look what was in it ….. it sure gave a good start to my Sunday. Yesterday I headed up to Wicklow and en route I called into @creativegrounds.ie , a lovely new coffee shop in Enniscorthy which is also a great creative hub supporting local art and creations, it’s just across the road from Dunnes with parking close by and I’d definitely recommend popping in. It’s nice and relaxed so whether you’re going for a solo coffee, a coffee with a friend for a chat or want to have some quality time with your son, daughter, niece, nephew …… you‘ll definitely be made feel welcome along with your pets too. Tonight I finally got to give @cartoonvillains his guitar. Johnny came along to the photoshoot for the handover, and we decided to shoot a portrait of him with his new instrument while we had the chance. This was a fun build, with some unique specs and hugely versatile electronics. And let’s not forget the centrepiece, an amazingly intricate, hand painted octopus by Suzi @rebisstudios. Grateful to have gotten to know these good souls over the course of this build. This morning whilst in the car I heard on the radio that today is the day to wish your pet ‘Happy New Year’…. And many people sent in requests for their pets. The first piece of the year made ❤️ Robins hold a very special place in my heart. I know Ellie and Tom believe during December they work for Santa whereas for me I really believe they’re bringing messages of love from our loved ones. Heading into a new year can bring much excitement but it can also bring sadness, for me I hold onto the belief that the love of our loved ones that have died is always around us ❤️❤️ This piece is for someones best friend who’s Dad died. Through creating my art I hear many many stories of friendship, love, heartache, achievements, strength and so much more and hearing these stories is such a real privilege and I look forward to hearing more stories in 2024 as each story gives my work so much more meaning.
