One time we found a baby black bird who fell out of its nest and dad brought it inside our house. We kept it in our popsicle stick house that we were currently building, turning it into a makeshift nest. Janthina janthina, a sea snail that can float on water by creating its own bubble raft. In the Old Testament of the Bible, we read of how God judged the world for its wickedness by sending a Global Flood to destroy every living thing that had breath. We also read of God’s patience and mercy with stubborn men. For 120 years, Noah warned people of the global flood that was coming, but no one listened to him except for seven other people. The people of the world would rather persist in their sins and defy God. In the end, only Noah, his sons and their wives listened to God and were saved in the Ark. God is HOLY and He cannot turn a blind eye to sin. Sin separates us from our Creator God. Just as how God provided a way of salvation from the flood (His judgment of sin), He provides us salvation from sin and its eternal consequences in the lake of fire. This salvation is found in His Son, Jesus, God the Son who came into the world incarnated as a man 2000 years ago. Jesus bore all our sins on His own body, suffering under the wrath of God against our sins on the cross of Calvary. He shed His sinless blood, giving His life in place of ours, as our Perfect Substitute. Jesus met all of God’s requirements - He lived a perfect life for us and had no sin. He paid the FULL price of our past, present, and future sins, leaving nothing left for us to pay. He resurrected the third day, proving that God had accepted His sacrifice for our sins and that His atonement is all-sufficient to cleanse us from all sins and make us justified by His righteousness in the sight of God.
