✅ 아파트를 창시한 천재 건축가의 1925년 건축물 ’아파트 공화국‘ 세상에 다양한 주택 건축방식이 있지만, 우리 나라 사람들은 유독 아파트를 선호합니다. 누군가에게는 인생의 목표이자 로망이 되어버린 아파트 과연 누가 만들어낸 개념일까요? 오늘은 아파트의 창시자이자, 우리에게는 가구 디자이너로 유명한 르코르뷔지에의 초기 건축물 ’빌라 라로슈‘에 대해 말씀드리려고 합니다. 1. 역사적 배경 프랑스에 위치한 ’빌라 라로슈‘는 스위스 은행가이자 열렬한 예술 수집가인 라울 라 로슈의 의뢰로 1925년 완공되었습니다. 라로슈는 자신의 거주지와 현대 미술 컬렉션을 전시할 수 있는 갤러리로 사용할 수 있는 공간을 원했습니다. 새로운 건축 아이디어와 기술을 실험할수 있는 자유를 보장받은 르코르뷔지에는 당시 존재하지 않던 ’근대 건축 5원칙‘을 적용하여 ’빌라 라로슈‘를 건축하게 됩니다. 2. 근대 건축 5원칙 - 필로티 (기둥): 건물이 강화 콘크리트 기둥 위에 세워져 있어 구조 아래에 개방된 공간을 제공 - 자유로운 파사드(입면): 필로티로 인해 외관 디자인에 더 창의적이고 유연한 접근 가능 - 자유로운 평면: 내부 구조는 하중을 지탱하는 벽이 없어 유연하고 개방된 생활 공간을 제공 - 수평 창문: 긴 수평 창문은 자연광을 강조하고 파노라마 뷰 제공 - 옥상 정원: 전통적인 경사지붕 대신 평평한 지붕이 테라스로 사용되어 정원 및 휴식공간으로 사용 이는 벽돌을 쌓아 벽을 만들던 당시 건축 시장에 큰 개념적 충격을 가져오게 되었으며, 그의 건축 5원칙은 현대 건축에도 아주 중요한 기반이 됩니다. 2016년, 빌라 라로슈는 유네스코 세계 문화유산으로 등재되어 근대 건축 발전에 대한 뛰어난 기여를 인정받았습니다. 프랑스를 가신다면 명품쇼핑, 박물관 투어도 정말 좋지만, 르코르뷔지에의 건축물을 따라 여행해보시는 것을 추천드립니다. 특히, Le Corbusier studio apartment 전시는 꼭 같이 보시면 좋겠습니다. ◽공간명 : 빌라 라로슈(메종 라로슈) ◽컨셉 : 건축물, 박물관 ◽️영업 시간 : 화~토 10:00~18:00 ◽위치 : 8-10 Sq. du Dr Blanche, 75016 Paris, 프랑스

I’ve spent the past year working on this show which opens today in Paris at Maison La Roche, the modernist gem Le Corbusier built in 1925, and home of @fondationlecorbusier. The research has taken over my life and led me down familiar and unknown paths alike— Charlotte Perriand’s furniture, Eileen Gray’s E.1027, the gov’t complex in Chandigarh, Nek Chand’s rock garden built from the construction rubble, Corbu’s concrete @carpenter_center_harvard where I learned how paint, his surprising late-in-life bull collages… I am profoundly grateful to have the opportunity to make work for, about, and in harmony with this important building, to be a curious ghost haunting old Corbu, and try on the head of the Minotaur and sit at the center of his labyrinth. Cette maison avant-gardiste est un exemple emblématique de l’innovation et de la vision révolutionnaire de son époque. Le Corbusier et Pierre Jeanneret ont collaboré pour créer cette résidence unique, marquée par des lignes épurées, des volumes géométriques et une utilisation ingénieuse de la lumière naturelle. maison la roche was designed by le corbusier and his cousin, pierre jeanneret, in the suburbs of paris for a swiss banker with an extensive cubist art collection. the building consists of two residences - white cubes forming an L-shaped plan: one for le corbusier’s brother, albert jeanneret, and the other for their friend, raul la roche. the villa was built between 1923-1925 and represents one of the earliest and most significant examples of cubist concrete avant garde construction. it was also a precursor to the development of much larger and more complex projects that would fully incorporate le corbusier’s 1927 manifesto, “5 points toward a new architecture”: 1. Pilotis—narrow columns made of reinforced concrete—for structural support; 2. An open floor plan; 3. A free façade; 4. A roof garden, designed to incorporate the house more thoroughly into the landscape; and 5. Long rows of horizontal windows for the best uninterrupted view and natural light. the site was designated a UNESCO heritage site in 2016. today, maison jeanneret houses le corbusier foundation offices and maison la roche is a museum open to the public. i spent most of my time surveying the incredibly inventive details of the light-filled service kitchen on the lower level - a beautiful space that is rarely covered in the history books. thank you family for bearing with me.

We were OBSESSED with our neighbor’s door, and as it turns out, for good reason ❤️💛💙 #casaamsterdam was built from 1996-1998 by #modernist architect Teodoro González León, who also called it home. He was inspired by the likes of #lecorbusier (whose #maisonlaroche I visited last summer in Paris) and a #bauhaus sensibility. It is a veritable modern masterpiece whose unassuming exterior barely alludes to the treasures inside. I’m so glad I found these archival images by the architect online (slides 7-10) to fill in the blanks. #xntravels

Au sortir de la station Jasmin, nous avançons dans la rue du Docteur Blanche. Bientôt, nous quittons la grande rue pour pénétrer dans une calme voie privée (impasse du Docteur Blanche) : verdoyante et peuplée de voitures rutilantes, la rue demeure habitée, témoignage d’une intense période de construction de luxueux logements fonctionnels. Au bout de l’impasse apparaissent bientôt les lignes géométriques blanches (enduit Cimentaline c’est-à-dire ocre jaune clair) d’une maison, ou plutôt, de deux maisons fusionnées : elles semblent nues, étant dénuées de la végétation qui se déploie sur toutes les autres habitations. Un panneau sur la porte prolonge cette ambiance intimiste : « Sonnez avant d’entrer » est-il écrit, comme si le propriétaire allait nous recevoir. {Podcast} Un nouveau podcast pour évoquer deux créations de Le Corbusier : la Maison La Roche et l’Appartement-atelier de l’architecte ! Une collaboration réalisée avec @n.bousser pour @coupefileart sous la forme d’une promenade sonore nous permettant d’évoquer les caractéristiques de ces œuvres phares de l’architecture parisienne entre 1923 et 1930. 100 ans après sa construction et 30 ans après son classement au titre des Monuments Historiques, la Maison La Roche est l’occasion d’évoquer le travail de Le Corbusier pour des demeures privées : ici deux maisons accolées, l’une à destination du frère de l’architecte, le musicien Alfred Jeanneret et son épouse Lotti Raaf, et l’autre pour le banquier et collectionneur d’art Raoul La Roche. Le luxe ingénieux de cette demeure se prête à l’étude comparée avec l’appartement-atelier que Corbusier conçoit pour lui-même quelques années plus tard. Si l’on y retrouve les 5 éléments-caractéristiques de son architecture, il s’inscrit là plus globalement dans une dynamique partagée par plusieurs architectes de cette décennie : une recherche du bien-être chez soi en se fondant sur la recherche de la lumière naturelle, l’incitation à la contemplation de l’environnement naturel, et sur l’adaptation de l’aménagement intérieur aux besoins de l’habitant.
