Truly inspirational and amazing story An eight-year-old boy, Frankie McMillan from west Cumbria, has recently completed a nine-day trek to reach the base camp of Mount Everest. This achievement follows his climb of Greece's Mount Olympus last year, where he became the youngest Briton to summit it. Here is a little bit behind the scenes of the hardest journey of my life. I didn’t show the times of my struggle but at this moment I really was doubting myself and if I could really make it. These mountains love to play mind games on you and really push you mentally, physically, and spiritually. I just kept telling myself,just 30 more mins and I’ll be closer. Whatever your Mt. Everest is,you can make it. The journey will be hard and grueling, one step at a time. It will be worth it at the end. Even with bleeding blister, sprained ankle, you can still make it!Sometimes you have to go through something so hard to get the reward. Like what my dad said “ if it was easy,everyone would do it.” I’m just here to tell you, whatever you’re going though, you can get through it! Give yourself grace and patience. Your mind can get you through anything, so be kind to yourself. Just keep pushing though, you’ll be ok! #mountaineverest
Day 7- well I finally made it! Had to have a little help with Daz the horse. With my blisters and I think I sprained my ankle on that same foot. Got to where I barely could put pressure onto it. I got off on the bad rocks and walked slowly awhile he went through. Call me a wimp, I don’t care, I just did the best I could and was so close and this was best option to be back before dark. 🤷♀️ Anyways, the views were amazing and just breathtaking. It was truly amazing! Big accomplishment for me. Daz got lots love during the ride and rest. #nepal 🇳🇵 #mountaineverest
Day 6- Today was ROUGH. High incline with crazy rocks with freezing winds… very challenging day. I really surprised myself on how I did today,slow but I made it. Pass though a dedication to those that have fallen during this turk and others. Really made me think about those people that didn’t make it. It was definitely beautiful and peaceful. Finally made it to my hotel in middle of nowhere, between mountains. Ready for some food and bed! I’m at the final stretch!! #nepal🇳🇵 #mountaineverest

🚶EBC-trek day 9: Gorakshep > Pangboche (18,7 km, 5160m > 3910m) Living and sleeping at high altitude is just not really nice. So after reaching the top, today we decided to descend as much as possible. 🚶EBC-trek day 8: Lobuche > Gorak Shep (15,8 km, 4910m > 5648m > 5160m) SUMMIT DAY! The first part of today went perfect, we arrived at Gorak Shep already after 1.5h! In fact it was only EBC for today, however we first climbed the real top: Kala Patthar (5648m). The climb was tough and the last kilometer was the hardest of our lives. However, the views from Kala Patthar were breathtaking! After lunch, we headed for Mount Everest Base Camp (5364m) as well. 🚶EBC-trek day 7: Dingboche > Lobuche (8,7 km, 4430m > 4910m) After a good (not to say perfect) sleep, we headed to Lobuche. The trek only had a steep part after lunch in Thukla. Rest of the trail is glacierterrain (gradually ascending, quite easy).
